The Inevitable Wrestling War between WWE vs. TNA

In the world of professional wrestling today, only two organizations are at the helm, wrestling each other and battling for supremacy in the sport’s entertainment industry. These two organizations are the biggest, and perhaps, the only wrestling shows that can be seen on television these days. At the moment, professional wrestling entertainment is being shaped by the rivalry that exists between the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Name one professional wrestler now and surely that athlete belongs only either with the WWE or the TNA. That is proof of the dominance of these two wrestling companies nowadays. They have a monopoly over the wrestling entertainment industry.

With the current success of the wrestling entertainment business – which is considered as one of the most profitable sports entertainment industry – also comes the widening feud between WWE and TNA. Although the rivalry is not that old, the prize at stake is very huge. Both companies aim to rule an industry that is now becoming a giant in the world of sports entertainment.

A Brief Look at the History of the Wrestling Industry

Between these two companies, WWE has the longer history and tradition in the business of wrestling entertainment. WWE is the offspring of one of the oldest wrestling organizations, the Capitol Wrestling Corporation. The CWC can be said to be the pioneer in the wrestling entertainment industry. It is this company that started combining the sport with acting to make it more exciting and appealing to a bigger number of audiences.

The CWC then evolved into the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It was the WWF that produced the sport’s best sold product, the WrestleMania. The success of WrestleMania brought the wrestling industry to its golden era in the mid 1980s up to the present. This has unified the business into one gigantic industry that it is today. Since then, WWE and it predecessor, WWF, dominated the business and ruled over the competitors. But that dominance is now being challenged by the emergence of TNA.

WWE vs TNA : The Rivalry

WWE’s hegemony over the business called wrestling entertainment is now under threat. Its once unshakeable supremacy in the industry is now being confronted by a new organization, whose players came but from WWE’s own ranks. Vince McMahon, who threaded his way to becoming a titan in the industry and steered WWE to its current status, is once again faced with a formidable challenge from newcomers in the business. Well, not actually newcomers but similar faces offering a new package.

But WWE can still have a bigger advantage over its rival. Its long and rich history, which spans over more than half a century, is its main weapon. After all, professional wrestling as it is known today is the product of WWE and its predecessors. WWE is still the face of professional wrestling entertainment.

WWE still has in its roster the biggest superstars in professional wrestling. These superstars are not only popular; they are also the most exciting wrestlers that perform excellently inside the ring. Wrestling superstar Triple H, who currently holds the WWE Championship belt, still captivates the crowd with his charisma and prolific performance. Also a crowd-gatherer is the Undertaker. The character that is portrayed by the Undertaker is still one of WWE’s biggest attractions to wrestling fans.

Superstars Chris Jericho, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, continues to generate hatred or admiration from the fans. Whichever way, it helps draw audience. And of course, “the Animal” Batista, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, the highflyer Rey Mysterio and hundreds of big names are still with the WWE. The WWE has a deep bench of wrestling superstars ready to be pulled out and who are always crowd-drawers.

Proof of this deep roster of great players is WWE’s division of its superstars into three programs, the SmackDown, Raw and ECW. Well, ECW is not really a program, but another organization acquired by the giant company. Equally divided in these programs are WWE’s hundreds of superstars. And in them, WWE can never experience a drought as each program is itself a huge organization of wrestling superstars.

However, TNA has a brand new product which it offers to wrestling fanatics. A product of a “fishing talk” between former WWE superstar Jeff Jarrett, his father and wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett, and wrestling news reporter Bob Ryder. TNA has now become a significant player in the wrestling entertainment industry and a tough challenger to WWE’s reign.

TNA was formed on May 10, 2002 with Jeff Jarrett playing a big role. He conceptualized the creation of the organization and initiated its formation. TNA has its own brand of wrestling entertainment that it offers to the millions of wrestling audience all over the world. It is the first company to introduce the hexagonal ring instead of the traditional four-sided ring to be used in wrestling. It also once introduced new rules into the game, but were later removed.

Along with the introduction of unconventional methods, TNA also has in its roster a number of superstars. Most of these superstars, however, were either poached or had resigned from WWE. Among the former WWE stars who transferred to TNA are Kurt Angle, Booker T, Christian Cage, the Hardy’s and many more. Another additional feature that TNA offers is the so-called X Division. In this division, even wrestlers who weigh more than 220 pounds perform high-flying risky stunts and tricks which are not usually done by heavyweights before and even by current above 220 lb-superstars of WWE.

However, judging from the current state of the wrestling entertainment industry, it is likely that WWE will remain the more dominant player. Its wide experience, rich history, a long list of tradition and innovative programs will ensure its reign in the industry. This organization is assured of another 50 years in the professional wrestling entertainment business. But in the end, the wrestling fans will benefit from this rivalry between these two wrestling organizations. The competition will certainly elevate the sport into another level, which will surely delight the fans.

WWe has become complacent and it’s programming is becoming more dominated by excessive ring talk. A 2 hour program with only 5 matches and 2 commercial breaks in each. Raw is the weaker brand and needs an input of new talent.
TNA is boring! Kevin nash and Sting and Scott Steiner look like they need a pole to lean on to stay upright.Surely TNA is just a Cash Cow for these has beens!
Surely the Undertaker is the greatest wrestler of all time!He is a great athlete, a brilliant mentor to younger wrestlers and still portrays his gimmick brilliantly and he is unselfish . He and Triple H give back to the business in spades and do not just bleed it dry for all they can get.

The WWE is the biggest and badest team in wrestling history. If one day TNA faces WWE it will be a overkill for TNA. Imagine this, st Suvivor Sieres, 2010 or 2011, team TNA Sting, Kurt Angle, A.J. Styles, Booker T, Jeff jaret, and rhino vs. Triple H, John Cena, Undertaker, HBK, Edge, and Batista (and I can keep on going for WWE example, Rey, Jeff, Kane, Christian and Randy Orton) it will be a night that TNA will never forget. HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHA!

  15. JokeCzar34 Says: March 27th, 2009 at 8:58 am

The storylines on both Raw & Smackdown are so real that they put any storylines on Impact to shame. What was Mick Foley thinking when he left WWE for TNA? TNA’s slogan is “Cross the Line”. Well it’s crossed the line alright, the line of sucky pro wrestling starring a bunch of washed up has-beens & amateurs who will never even make a WWE B-team roster. Motor City Machine Guns are a blatant ripoff of Miz & Morrison. WWE is the real deal & there’s not one thing Jarret or TNA can do about it. I hope WWE puts TNA out of business so Sting will have no other choice but to join the dominant force that is the WWE. Though I think TNA is a huge joke, I’d like to see a dream match between Batista vs. Samoa Joe. I’d love to see the real Stone Cold put the stunner on SharkBoy’s sorry ass and Randy Savage put the flying elbow on Black Machismo. Any WWE Diva can beat Awesome Kong, even Jillian Hall. TNA knockouts suck BTW. Beautiful People (both previous The Next WWE Diva contest rejects) are totally unwatchable & annoying.

  16. JokeCzar34 Says: March 27th, 2009 at 9:16 am

Vince tried to get Sting over & over again but Sting hasn’t gotten the message that WWE is the ultimate pro wrestling company. Not even from his mentors like Ric Flair & the Hulkster (who allegedly tried to get Vince & WWE to lure him away from WCW/NWA when Sting was in his prime.) He keeps going to the more frivolous organizations like TNA. Come on Sting, be a man! Join WWE, the absolute best of the best. Bound 4 Glory definitely ain’t Wrestlemania. Don’tcha wanna be in a Wrestlemania match, Sting, or do you wanna keep farting around in TNA?

OF COURSE THE WWE IS THE BEST EVER IN ANY WRESTLING BUSINESS…. TNA SUCK…. WWE WILL DOMINATE TNA AND WILL MAKE TNA LOOK LIKE CRAP EVEN THOU TNA MAKE THEM SELF LOOK LIKE CRAP BUT WWE WILL TAKE TNA OUT OF BUSINESS AND I PROMISE U THAT THEY WILL… IF ONE DAY TNA DOES CHALLENGE THE WWE I WOULD WANT THESE WRESTLERS TO FIGHT: UNDERTAKER, KANE, TRIPLE H, HBK, JEFF HARDY, RANDY ORTON, CHRIS JERICHO, BATISTA, CM PUNK, BIG SHOW, EDGE, JOHN CENA, REY MYSTERIO, AND EVAN BOURNE VS JEFF JARRET, KURT ANGLE, AJ STYLES, BOOKER T, SAMOA JOE, MICK FOLEY, RHINO, ABYSS, MATT MORGAN, MOTORCITY MACHINE GUNS (2), TEAM 3D (2), AND STING….. AND ALL YA KNOW THE WWE HAVE A BIGGER N STRONGER N FASTER N BETTER WRESTLERS THAN TNA SO YA ALREADY KNOW ITS TRULY OVER FOR TNA…. WWE IS TAKING OVER ….WWE ROCKZ

why do they call tna total non stop action? tna hardly has any action.WWE is better, better wrestlers, better finishers and better looking divs. Have any of you notice how concequences creeds looks a lot like Carlitos?

  19. Derek Says: April 10th, 2009 at 8:39 am

WWE is going soft, and once TNA breaks away from Spike and gets on a better network, the ratings will soar. I give it a few years though. WWE is in the shitty “PG” era and that will be its downfall. the old WWE was way better to watch, and honestly…TNA is bringing some of those memories back. Sure they may have a horrid creative team, but those things take time, they will grow and move on to new heights. WWE better not turn its back on these guys just yet.

  20. WWE Fan Says: April 28th, 2009 at 11:28 pm

TNA, when i once watched one episode, all they literally did was smack each other with chairs. WWE is a more proffesional company and has better storylines, even though i have to admit they do have some quite weird ones as well. Also most WWE superstars that gets old usually end up going to TNA like kurt angle and mick foley, who aren’t doing that well i guess. Also WWE has unforgettable superstars such as the Undertaker, Triple H, Batista, Chris Jericho, HBK, Kane, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and much much more

  21. jhay ehm wwe rules Says: May 19th, 2009 at 9:29 am

TNA should have their own originality….look guys almost WWE’s reject can now be seen in TNA….
c’mon they should make their own wrestler….. In divas division….yes they can have ladder or steel cage match but for me that is not interesting…. they only do those match to make thier more impressive than the divas….but as you can see guys even though that they dont compete in some hardcore match still you can see their passion athletisism and greatness on wrestling…..TNA knockouts sometimes had a brawl using some steelchair and etc even that thing did not impress me much they are trying hard to beat the divas and remember wwe has the original term to their female wrestler-DIVA and copied by tna to make tna knockouts….wwe trained TAYLOR WILDE is DSW but she never called up to the main roster until she releaesed on her developmental contrct…wwe trained her to be a wrestler but their are some point that she speaks on TNA impact in one segment with the beautiful people that she is not a diva..she is a tna knockouts…in my opinion even she is in TNA she should be thanks to wwe she could not be on that place without the wwe as her steping stone……….
i love wrestling…..i love some wrestling action….i love the divas……and i love wwe

WWE IS THE BEST.

WWE has made movies with their wrestlers and wwe has made more than 5 video games and tna only made 1!!!also wwe had their wrestlers invited to award shows and guest stars to shows and what so ever!!!unlike tna which barely ever was!!!so wwe is much much much better!!!!!!!

Okay,I’ve been to alot of websites and I’ve heard people say “TNA is evil because they brought back DX, and they had the sharkboysteve austin gimmik, and VKM,and they took WWE suprstars”.I get that yeah, but there 2 sides to every story.Jim Corrnet got
sick and tired of being brother love,Christian was sick of being a heel, sting got rubbed the wrong way by vince mcmahons father and the apple doesnt fall far from the tree,WWe wouldn’t give Booker another title shot,Big Sexy Kevin Nash and Big Poppa Pump Scott Stiener were extremely gifted legends and vince wouldn’t even put them on a card, kurt got sick ECW stilling his spotlight,Victoria and Gail Kim couldn’t win matches plus inactivity and to tell you the truth Christian and Gail will be back onTnNA and on top if Vince didn’t shot down ECW Rhyno,Raven,Steven Richards, and Team 3D would still be in the WWE if not ECW.Thats just a kids point of veiw. And just to give all of you some insite if Eric Bishofs plans are true there is going to be World War III

  35. Matt Says: July 9th, 2009 at 6:45 am

TNA doesnt have midgets running around and saying hes a leprechaun. Well to the kid who said Motor City Machine Guns is a rip off of miz and morrison, MMG was around first, lol nice try buddy. I prefer to watch great matches between talanted wrestlers like kurt angle and sting, and the high flying skill of aj styles than a 20 minute monologue from some talentless muscle man every week. face it, guys like john cena and batista really arent talanted, they do the basic moves you learn in wrestling school.

Heres a fact. Kurt angle was the highest paid wrestler in WWE when he left for TNA.

9/10 of the wrestlers (notice i dont call them superstars like WWE does to diguise the fact theyre talentless) that are on, or were on, tna that came from wwe quit. TNA cares about their wrestlers, if there are personal things going on in their life they can get time off for that. Theres multiple interviews showing this.

WWE is now PG!!! They say butt, not ass. They dont have any blood. They consider a huge match to be a match between john cena and batista, when in all reality theyre just good actors, and its just a singles match. nothing special. TNA’s big matches are often something like AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels (Both are great high flying and technical wrestlers) vs Team 3d in a tables match. Now thats just an example of a great match.

WWE has talentless pretty girls trying to wrestle, id much rather watch Taylor wilde vs Angelina love.

The cage in TNA doesnt move 4 inches anytime youre thrown into it, it has extremely little resistance. Its also about twice as tall, and guys have jumped off the top of it.

The story lines in TNA are far more new creative and innovative than WWE. OHHH he gets injured than comes back with no friends and takes on the champion… yeah i really want to see that for the 27th time. Thanks WWE.

The truth is that TNA is growing for a reason, its talent is far better and is used better with their storylines. The women can actually wrestle. Theyre not afraid to say a swear or show some blood.

  36. david Says: July 10th, 2009 at 9:47 pm

tna will never be as big as wwe, wwe has 3 daily shows, raw, smackdown & ecw, not to mention a large number of special events, i also think the hexagon ring is so damn stupid. the fact that wwe has 3 brands allows more wrestlers a chance at a championship belt
they have better looking divas. i seen someone wrote that tna is getting bigger? that might be true, but lets all remember WCW that had grown large and was big for yrs, where are they now??? oh! thats right ted turner sold it to vince, and now it no longer exist. so tna can still fall. to even be a small threat they need more then just one night on tv, and more special events. and get rid of that dumb asss hex ring.

  37. David Says: July 12th, 2009 at 5:41 pm

    True facts

TNA lured wwe gratest stars like kurt scott kevin booker christian{even though he went back} the brilliant athletes in wwe like benjamin and morrison arent goin anywhere benkjamin has more talent than randy cena and batista and wwe would be scared to have a feast or fired cause they dont want to lose there over paid pigs like edge and batista the only thing good about wwe is there young talented athletes like bourne benjamin morisson kingston but they should come tna to get their fair chance

ok all of you that said wwe is better…look at the ratings ten years ao raw ratings were no lower than at least a 6.0 now they cant get past 3.5. tna gets more action than wwe now. nowi know wwe has ore history but tna like just started like 7 years ago and they still have higher ratings. i can say i make sure i wacth thursdays on spike for impact but i really dont care about missing an episode or raw smackdown and…ecw. speaking of ecw..wht the hell is that?waste of money so is wwe superstars. wwe is heading for bankruptcy if they keep up these lame shows.wwe is now rated pg? why? whens the last time youve seen a hiac or elimination chamber match?whens the last time youve even seen anyone bleed?or cuss?im not saying thats what all wrestling is all about but its edgy.tna awsome because the storylines dont cover uup the match.id rather work for them.im 19 years old ive been watching wwe since 1998 and watched wwe become such a joke in my mmind.wwwe doesnt use its superstars right. they pushed john cena to heavywieght status?hes not even worthy.im a big fan of hhh but the only reason hes not fallen back to mid card status is cuz hes married the bosses daughter and knocked her up so vince doesnt want his grandson to be poor, wwe needs more variety.why do you think wwe supetstars keep getting injuried?cuz they work like 300 days a year. they have three shows plus house shows and ppvs. tna could branch out like that but then jarret knows they would be working more and away from there familes. so to all you wwe fans of today i say….look through the history of wwe and see how much its fallen…give it like ten years if tna stays the way it is all your hear is “wwe…whats that?”

Imagine what kind of impact that Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall feels when all of a sudden during in the middle of their conversations ( trash talking ) inside the ring discussing about what’s next for both Gail Kim and Micki James behind their back of course , the lights from the entire arena were about turned off by itself and guess who appeared onto the screen is none other than Awesome Kong and manager speaking towards Beth Phoenix and her tag-team partner Jillian feeling so scared don’t know what to do after next, and out of no where in sight, Awesome Kong is right behind Jillian Hall delivering an important message like this for an example : So, Beth Phoenix you think you got what it takes to dare step up into the plate to challenge Awesome Kong? Why don’t you turn around and take a look at what she is preparing to do with your partner who is hopeless while lifting her onto her back and giving Jillian Hall the exact Torture Rack from hell and bending her like a rag doll ( like she did to Christie Hemme ), see this is what you are going to see once you mess with my friends Gail Kim and Micki James, you have to get through this woman that you’re bound to see right there . The reason is because everytime we’ve seen you destroy your opponents, you think you got what it takes to become this ” Glamazon ” woman but when you witness Awesome Kong prepared yourself to be crushed by the awesomeness moves that she will deliver towards during this year’s annual spectacular special surprise live pay per view event in which it will be held on Sunday August 23, 2009 for ” The World Wrestling Entertainment’s Summer Slam ” W.W.E. Women’s Championship title match . Also I feel that whatever happens during this match, I think Awesome Kong will continue to dominated the entire Diva Superstars inside the ring no matter what as long as she can performed a much descent entertainment that provide for these fans around the entire world to see . She will be the next future ” W.W.E. Women’s Champion and sign a contract to become the next Diva Superstar of Monday night’s Raw roster . Awesome Kong rules the ring !!!!

I despise TNA. I was at one point getting into it… until I noticed a month into watching it that they’ve had the same story line FOREVER now. It’s never anything new there and it’s really boring.
I turned it to TNA not long ago after not watching it for about 4months, and they’re doing the same thing they were doing when I stopped watching it. It’s sad, really. The X-Division is pretty good tho, and I only have respect for that part of the company. And I really do think they would be put to good use in the WWE, tho most of them aren’t in the WWE cause they were declined.. so they went to TNA. I’m really glad Christian came back tho, I hope he does a story line with Edge again one of these days.

First off, you claim to rather see wrestling “than a 20 minute monologue from some talentless muscle man every week.” When in fact, you just described Matt Morgan, who is a PPV headliner in TNA, who sucks in the ring, and on the mic. Personally, I’d rather see a match between CM Punk vs. John Morrison rather than Sharmell vs. Jenna Morasaco.

And your claim that TNA takes care of their wrestlers is soooo true, that’s why they have a wellness policy, right? Oh wait, no they don’t… Say what you want about WWE’s wellness policy, but the fact is, WWE has one, TNA doesn’t, period.

TNA has good matches, I mean, who cares about Tyson Kidd vs. Evan Bourne, HBK vs. Taker, Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk, when you can see an overbooked TNA main event! Or you can see a two minute match between Joe and Homocide!

And wwe has talented divas like Mickie James, Gail Kim, Natalya, Melina, so to say its worse than tna is silly.

And saying TNA has better storylines is silly, most of the big storylines revolve around some guy deciding wether or not he’s joining the Main Event Mafia, tna also has legendary storylines like having Cody Deaner winning the Knockouts title, come’on bro. Its cool if you think WWE sucks, but to say TNA is any better is silly.

  48. Matt Says: August 29th, 2009 at 12:27 am

Matt Morgan has talent :) He is a good technichal wrestler unlike batista (Spinebusters, shoulders, clotheslines, punches, and suplexes… thats refreshing). And quit comparing wwe’s mains events to the worst matches you can find in tna. “CM Punk vs. John Morrison rather than Sharmell vs. Jenna Morasaco.” Dont compare them, cause i can compare hornswoggle vs the great khali, and samoa joe vs kurt angle… they both happened.

TNAs wrestlers work 180 days a year, not 360… And if they need time off they get it.

TNA has much more talent in their 1 show than wwe in all 3 combined.

Even if wwe has better storylines, theyre used again and again and again… An injured guy comes back and gets the title from the guy who injured him… wow great. And yeah tna really needs to drop cody deaner, and suicide…

First on the TNA announcer thing. I did’nt like west as an announcer. He is to over the top to talk that long. I think he is great as a manager but dont think amazing red is guy for him. He is more of a bobby the brain type. He should be managing heels and not face’s. TNA has it’s up and downs but I enjoy watching it. In my opinion the x division is what makes this company stand out. I like the fact there pushing the younger talent but they need to be more careful not to do it to fast. It seems like after bound for glory everything happened over night. They still need the big names to keep peoples attention. Another thing I like about this company is all the belts have more face. In the WWE It’s all about the world titles and the others are just kinda there. The WWE have pushed the united states and interc championship’s a bit more now but still need more variety. The wwe tag team division is a joke!!! While the WWE has more names and more money and better writters. I think down the road TNA Def wont take out the wwe but make there dent. I like Tna more every day. Although latley the story lines have been a bit thin Im sure things will take form. Just like the wwe after wrestlemania the landscape of the company changes. I like that Tna is more risky in there matches. WWE is kinda of gotten soft over the years. I watch both company’s and like the change of pace. I will continue to watch both even when the story lines arent the best. WWE will always be king but I dont think one company should own everything. Then they will hold to much power over the talent and will only lead to problems!!! Im happy to support both company’s!!!!!!!!!

wwe i better than tna cus tna is just copying wwe and tryin to take there superstars.tna is like a retirement home. every time someone quits wwe, tna takes the person.wwe is better and bigeer and wwe can beat tna anytime

  54. wrestlingfan Says: December 5th, 2009 at 11:01 am

I have to say that WWE and Tna are both good but right now WWE has some good dominance. TNA are just trying to be another WCW and not just that but its okay to have some of their roster ex WWE/WCW superstars but when itgets to a point where 90% of the rost is ex WWE/WCW thats where they draw the line. WWE is still in dominance but give TNA some years and maybe they’ll pose a threat. I do say they have a good X-Division and some talented Knockouts. WWE could do better in their mid card division and woman’s diviision a bit. If you dont agree with me its okay. Im just 11.

  55. wrestlingfan Says: December 5th, 2009 at 4:38 pm

I say WWE and TNa should be one big corporation. They should just combine. They could dominate the wrestling world and it would be a whole lot cooler.

In terms of high flyers and extreme moves. TNA’s X-Division has it. They will do moves you neevr seen before. All WWE’s high flyers do is the regular crossbody. But TNA really need to do something with their midcarders that arent heavyweight or x-division like Dr.stevie or Abyss/ Have them compete for the Legends belt.

  65. mike Says: December 19th, 2009 at 9:36 am

wwe is way better the divas are way hotter than awsome kong . plus if you saw tna impact on december 17 2009 you probaly saw lauren slapind one of the girls from the beutiful people that story sucks. now if you saw raw thanksgiving special a rivalry between maryse and melina is better than ODB and Tara. Now in TNA theres a shity rivalry between aj styles and daniels that sucks now i think batista as heel is good now in tna daniels as a heel sucks and the rivalry in wwe jeff hardy and cm punk no w thats awsome and filled with alot of ecsitment . now tna has bad superstars they have amazing red , daniels , the pope diangelo , jeff jarett, team 3d, the motor city machine guns those guys are crap becuse wwe hase cm punk, john morrison , and wwe also has freakin Jerisho and dx

  66. wrestlingfan Says: December 19th, 2009 at 1:53 pm

Well I believe wrestling ability is judged on in ring tehcnique not looks. The Knockouts are good. I mean Hamada almost beat Eric Young. Alissa Flash is a beast. Sarita is high flying. TNA is the future! Ans eriously Amazing Red does things that some of the guys in WWE cant do. Daniels that guys on his way. Team 3D are 22 time tag team champions. Jerishow are barely a tag team. DX they’re a good tag team but there’s a difference in being enterating and controversial than being a good tag team. Jeff Jarrett tis a good wrestler and he paved the way for guys like John Morrison. Tna is good too. They’re not just a bunch of crap.

  70. Pawnage Says: December 30th, 2009 at 6:55 pm

Hulk Hogan said the other day he wants to make TNA the no 1 wrestling company. He also said he learnt alot from MMA and UFC so I think he will change wrestling like he did with the NWO.
Bishoff , Russo and Hulk Hogan ( who are all involved with tna now)proved they can beat WWE at their own game. For the people who remember wrestling 10 years ago you will agree with me.
Unfortunately for Vince he doesnt have The Rock or Austin this time around as full time wrestlers.
Good thing is WWE will finally have competition again and maybe they will treat their wrestlers better and have some decent story lines considering alot of their wrestlers are burnt out.
I personally hate VInce for buying out WCW and destroying wrestling so I hope they get their asses kicked in the ratings.

  71. Freaks Says: December 30th, 2009 at 7:01 pm

WWE is so bad now they had to bring back DX.
    Undertaker holds the title.
Now they want to bring back Brett Hart.
They may as well bring back Rock and have a feud with Vince again.
welcome to 10 years ago WWE.
WWE is lame and boring.. Whoever said TNA was boring compared to WWE is stupid and needs to go back and watch wrestling last decade and you will realise all WWE does is rehash old storylines over and over.

Wrestling as we know it is about to change big time wether vince likes it or not.

  72. Ultimate Creative Team Says: December 30th, 2009 at 7:16 pm

  77. sammy Says: January 2nd, 2010 at 3:12 am

I think WWE will come out on top in the rivalry against TNA sure wwe went to a PG rating but i think they just did that for business they want to get a higher audience level i give some credit to tna but they are stupid to go up against raw let alone the wwe hopefully this will start a rivalry and wwe will kick tna’s ass and then tna will learn that they should have never messed with Big Dog in sports entertainment the WWE

  78. wrestlingfan Says: January 2nd, 2010 at 1:25 pm

  81. COBRA Says: January 3rd, 2010 at 1:20 pm

  82. Smashed Says: January 3rd, 2010 at 5:51 pm

    WWE is sports entertainment,
    TNA is professional wrestling.
TNA will be a different product at the end of the day with prob a different ordiance watching.
WWE will target kids where TNA will targets all ages and being a private company they don’t have to put a PG rating like WWE.
TNA is fresh and wrestlers want to go there unlike WWE where they are burning out their wrestlers.
Most people who defend WWE never watched WCW/NWO v WWE war.
Wrestling since then has being pretty lame and most people will agree with me.

Don’t get me wrong there not the WWE yet…. I watch both programs. I chose to support TNA and watch them tonight. To see Bret Hart would have been great and interesting. There show looked to be one dimensional. Where as TNA it was a much bigger deal. And about joining the company’s. Come on!!!!!!!!! That’s retarded. If one company owns the monopoly then that’s bad for wrestling. Back in the WCW WWE days back before there was dvr I switched back and forth on Monday nights and loved doing it. What was going on on each show at the moment. To my point at that time it was when wrestling always in the moment. Wresting has lost it’s edge. These two company’s battling is the best thing that could happen to wrestling and not under the same roof. Yes it’s like the rebirth of WCW right now. Look at it like WCW and TNA Teaming up to take on the giant WWE. I love it!!!!!! I cant wait to see whats gonna happen next. TNA props!!! I was wondering when you were gonna take it to the next level. You have moved slow which was the right thing to do and not get swallowed whole. Now it’s time to jump and I pray you fly. WWE has gotten soft and lost there edge. Lets see if it comes back?

I was in a car crash with a Semi truck which took the scholarship away from me. I wanted to become a professional wrestler when I was growing up because of the excitement of it. I just want it to excite me like it did back then. I did get into MMA and competed for a bit since I never got to do wrestling. Back to the point TNA impressed me tonight. Im watching Raw from my DVR now and will comment on weather I feel it brought the same product that TNA did tonight. Hopefully there will be good wrestling for all in the future!!! Cheers!

  104. WHAT?! Says: January 5th, 2010 at 2:14 am

    …Interesting comments.

I will not prognosticate here, since, while I’ve been a wrestling fan for more than 25 years, I’m no guru or expert. I’m a fan.

But I am a fan with some opinions.

TNA is far better than many give it credit for, but not as good as it could or should be.

WWE is not as good as many here are making it out to be, but not as bad as it has been in the past nor it’s made out to be in the present.

TNA is encapsulating a piece of what wrestling used to be – fun. Exciting. Filled with heart. Wrestlers told stories, not just with their promos, but with their bodies, their moves. I feel TNA is bringing some of this back to wrestling and WWE has lost a lot of this. Also, in the old days, story lines WERE simple, and in a way, that was part of the beauty of it. Story lines should spice the wrestling, not drown it. Wrestling is supposed to be wrestling. If you want intricate plots, read a Tom Clancy novel. Now they shouldn’t be innane (something TNA needs to work on), but at their heart, a good wrestling plot is simple – a protagonist, an antagonist, a conflict and conclusion. Not long ago, I watched the 1st Summerslam ever…and I liked it better than some of the stuff WWE has put out recently, for the very same reasons I’ve mentioned and why I’ve come to enjoy TNA (despite it’s need for far better production value and promo work).

As for WWE, it still has the slickest shows and some genuinely talented wrestlers. But the plots are getting so damn OLD! If I see Legacy interfere with another Orton match or another ‘grudge match’ getting interupted by outside interference, especialy at a pay-per-view, I’m going to scream! So many of these rivalries are getting beaten to a bloody death and some of the matches are delivered so woodenly, that WWE is begining to remind me of many politicians and holywood luminaries – all flash, no substance.

To be fair, there have been exceptions. Michaels vs the Undertaker at the last Wrestlmania was one of the greatest matches…ever. The heart, skill and drama of the match, the build up to the match was the stuff of Vince’s 80’s gold. Sadly though, much of Vince’s slop consists of Randy Orton looking constipated and either having Legacy interfere in a match or Orton kicking someone, or slapping a refferee, or some other bull@@@t. In fact, a big beef I have with WWE revolves around how certain great characters (like orton…well he used to be anyway) are ridiculously over exposed and other realy talented stars (like legacy to name just two) are under-utilized or turned into jokes. I mean really, Mark Henry, Rapping? Really? With all respect, he’s an engine of destruction, a wrecker, a destroyer…I don’t mind him being a babyface (though he’s an awesome heel) but he’s being turned into a joke. I have more examples, but not all night…

In conclusion, I like both shows. It’s O.K. to like both. TNA, with it’s heart and young talent, can (and I hope will) be a major force and a household word in Sports entertainment but has a lot of growing to do (and after 7 years, it’s about damn time). WWE puts on the glitz, but has lost how to utilize it’s talent, set and wrap up a plot without beating it to death and has lost some of that in-ring gravitas that made it great in the 80’s. It’s not going anywhere for the moment. Still, in 2-5 years, when many of the ‘old guard’ both at WWE and TNA start retiring and it’s new blood vs New blood, it will be interesting to see which company will be on top, though certainly both companies will still be here, putting on a show for us, the fans.

    TNA won the night.
It’s also funny reading people say Hulk Hogan and a bunch of old wrestlers are in TNA but they watch WWE and a feud with Vince who is older than all of them and Bret Hart who is also up there lol.

TNA —- YOU CAN’T SEE ME!

What next? Does Vince offer to buy these guys out?

  108. COBRA Says: January 5th, 2010 at 11:14 am

I kinda figured Vince would do something to Bret Hart as payback. Still I thought the matches improved at least for now

  109. WHAT?! Says: January 5th, 2010 at 12:09 pm

A buy out is unlikely. I’m rooting for TNA to do well, but I think JBL said it well in a recent interview, when he said, ultimately, WWE would win this war, but unlike WCW, TNA will carve a niche for itself and not go under. WWE is not in the poor shape it was in when WCW came around, in my opinion, so Vince really doesn’t have anything to fear, per se. Still, I believe it may well be the case that the days of WWE being the only recognized name in town is over. The real winners (I know, cliche…) is indeed the fans. Even if the status Quo is maintained, there are more nights than ever to watch wrestling and there’s choice now.

Well as I believe TNA did yesterday, In a way, regardless of the raitings, WWE came out the winner. I say this insofar as WWE didn’t even (explicitly anyway) refference TNA, while TNA made many mentions of how it’s going up against WWE. If there was one thing I would recomend to TNA (actually there are many things, but I’ll just stick to this one for the sake of brevity), is to stop talking so much about the competition and how they’re going ‘Up against Vince.’ Doing so, only makes it about how big and bad WWE is. Worry about your own show TNA, keep doing what works and changewhat doesn’t and the fans themselves will be the ultimate arbiter. Being the underdog is great, but if you keep on pointing that out every five seconds, it will get old and people will no longer care.

    Nice job, both companies.

  111. Edward Says: January 5th, 2010 at 4:08 pm

I agree TNA will never beat WWE. WWE is just a so big empire that can’t be touch. I’ve been watching wrestling for a good couple of years, and the only time the wwe had a mejor competition or threat was in the late WCW days back in 1996. TNA Isn’t really near to be what WCW was when they started to compete with the wwe. As we know as great vice mcmahon is we know he that he has Monopolyze the wrestling business by pretending to be his own competetition. Every sports needs to have a competition just like the MLB for example that has the American League and the National League. Competition is what make great sports wwe after 2001 most likeley has been gargabe compared to what they where a few years back. My suggestion to TNA is dont make the same mistake WCW Made and would try to push the younger stars and stop imitating the old wcw bringing back the same old dawm wrestlers, remenber they dont have to win over raw, i dont think thats the goal i think is just remaining on Air giving the fans another show to watch. I really give credit to Dixie Carter (President) for making the effort it really takes a lot of courage to do that i hope everything works out fine in the long term. She really deserves credit for what she has donde all ready for TNA. But in concusion having a chance to win over wwe i dont think so WWE IS Just way to big of a monster.

  112. wrestlingfan Says: January 5th, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Yeah. WWE may win but TNA may get a name for itself especially with all thse superstars coming in. jeff Hardy,Scot hall, etc.

  113. WHAT?! Says: January 5th, 2010 at 4:43 pm

I think you bring up some good points Edward. Rehashing WCW overly, would be a big mistake and defeat the one thing TNA has going for it; it’s freshness and newness. Even the old WWE stars like Nash, Steiner and Angle all took on at least somewhat of a different persona, even if that persona was to be a little more real and a little less kayfabe. I think Hogan might be making a mistake rehashing this invasion plot too much. a little is good, and I like how they are using some of the old WCW crew as a way to illustrate a “Changed” Hogan, no longer looking for individual glory but looking to put the company and fan’s first (I don’t think this is an act, but let’s be honest he and Bischoff do have a bad rep to overcome).

as for taking on the WWE, the best way to take on the competition is to make the issue about your own product. TNA can compete and give WWE a run for it’s money just by putting on an awesome show. I’ve said it before, going on about your status as underdog can get old and going on about how much another show or company sucks can be pushed to the point where you sound too much like a hater. WWE is far from it’s genius of the 80’s and part of the 90’s but it’s here for a reason. Yelling ‘Angle Sucks’ for example is dumb; you may not like hime, which is fine, but he clearly does not suck. In the same way demeaning WWE (and it has plenty to be demeaned for), to a point, is falacious.

Those that have read my posts can probably tell I am sympathetic towards and root for TNA. Bu I’d like to see them focus on the beam in their own eye. Stop worrying about other companies and start focusing on your own and what things you have the right to be proud of; talented wrestlers with tremendous heart. Be yourself and the fans will reward you.

  114. Edward Says: January 5th, 2010 at 5:16 pm

Yeah but remenber those names that you just mentioned Jeff Hardy,Scot Hall etc etc those stars were made in the wwe. The reason why is so difficult to compete with the wwe is the fact that vince is a 3rd generation promotor in other words he respresent wrestling roots. Now a days is hard to create stars that will transcent for the next 10 20 years and still be regconizble stars. Wrestling in overall is realaying too much on the old stars thats what i think is the problem. TNA Needs a fresh product and stop bringing Flair,Scot hall Nash I mean those guys where great but their time has pass. THE FUTURE OF TNA ARE WRESTLERS Such as AJ Styles,Samoan Joe u know new faces wrestlers that are not linked to the past. IF TNA FOCUSE ON GUYS LIKE AJ STYLE AND THE OTHERS THEY’LL GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT. i would love to see TNA one day win over wwe that would prove that no dream is imposible. I watched Raw and Impact last night and it felt like my old days swithing the channels to raw and nitro i had that same feeling it really felt good. But as more as i wanted to see bret hart and vince i coulnd stop watching the AJ Styles Kurt Angle Match WOW WHAT A A WRESTLING MATCH!!! WWE DOESN’T HAVE PERFORMERS LIKE THAT ANYMORE U KNOW REAL WRESTLERS TNA HAS IT AND ITS A GOOD START. TNA GOAL IS TO PROVE THAT THEY HAVE BETTER PERFORMERS WHEN IT COMES TO WRESTLERS INSIDE RING,NOT MARKETABLE BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW WWE IS MORE MARKETABLE IN OVERALL BUT THE TALENT OF THE PERFORMERS ARE WEAK VERY WEAK. they have to keep doing what they doing and not make it seen like is a war because when someone talks like that u know u gotta live up to the expectations trust me fans such as myself we are getting tired of wwe;s storylines and matches the last 3 wrestlemanias has been trash. With that said TNA HAS to let wwe fall by itself and the fans will respond with time. Just remeber IT TOOK WCW A COUPLE OF YEARS TO COMPETE WITH WWF THIS WHOLE TNA IMPACT VS RAW TO ME IS VERY PREMATURE IS TO SOON TO BE TALKING ABOUT A COMPANY BEATING THE OTHER FANS HAVE TO GIVE TIME TO THIS WHOLE IMPACT VS RAW THING

  115. Rockstar Says: January 5th, 2010 at 5:36 pm

As Hulk Hogan said on impact. People don’t like it go north including the audience.
You think he cares if people tune into wwe? Nope
TNA want loyal fans like WCW had and they will be a different product.
They dont have to go PG like WWE and will target a slightly different audience.
They are smart using older guys and younger ones so their audience is a very broad age group. WWE want to focus on kids thats fine and their decision but will it bite them in the ass?
ALso what happens when guys like big show who were WCW jump to TNA when their contracts run out.
Kids out there need to realise how burnt out wwe wrestlers are.
WWE only survived the monday wars due to the rock and steve austin.. but where are they this time?
Triple H, HBK, Undertaker,Vince and quite a few others are just as old as some TNA wrestlers.
I don’t want any company to go under cause competition is healthy.
But stop saying WWE should buy TNA… THEY DID THAT WITH WCW AND ECW and screwed so many people in the progress. But there is no chance of that happening which is a good thing.

  116. Cobra Says: January 5th, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Its just a matter of time before 1 falls

  117. WHAT?! Says: January 5th, 2010 at 6:46 pm

    Cobra, I beg to differ…

I don’t see either falling to the other. If one falls it will be from within.

I think perhaps we are missing part of the picture. Is it really necessary for there to be only one promotion? I think we are used to there being only one MLB, one NHL, one NFL that we think therefore that the must be only one Wrestling League.

In many ways, the whole monday night wars was a dumb, unecessary idea….why have your show on Monday? Why not a different day of the week? Is it so hard to beleive that those who watch one promotion will never watch another? Immagine if you will, just for a moment, if Turner decided to put his show on…Tuesday. Or Thursday. Imaginie a world where WWE and WCW still put out wrestling shows. Don’t think there’d be competition? Wrestling would be so much better if Ted turner used his brains, instead of his balls.

The idea that there can be only one is falacious. WCW could have wiped out WWE if WCW didn’t wipe itself out first by turning from fresh and exciting to hack bull***t and going under due to financial mismanagent…but then what? WCW would be what the WWE is today in many ways. WCW was Vince’s biggest gift in that it provided him with a devil to nip at his heals and get his juices flowing…and generate buzz for the business. If WCW were on a tuesday, today’s wrestling would be so damn good it would be scary!

Let there be more than one promotion. TNA and it’s fans need to stop thinking in terms of defeating the great Vince boogeyman. Stop living in the past…build on it to the future. forget “I will bury Vince.” Think “Every show I make will bury the last one I made because I will strive to be better and better.”

There doesn’t have to be “Only One.” But if there must, and if it is to have a chance, TNA would be better served, in my opinion, doing it from Thursday Night.

    I agree with Edward.

  120. WHAT?! Says: January 5th, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Hey all. A couple of random thoughts:

Any idea out there what the ratings were for Monday? Curious as to how things went for the two companies.

Is it just me, or is there too much talking in wrestling today? I like some, in fact, a bit of plot makes wrestling, wrestling. But enough is enough.

Also, I think there are too many screw job finishes (especialy in WWE, and especialy in their pay per views). A little interference and the occasional screw job finish is cool and builds a feud…but sometimes a really good feud can really be killed with too many of these. Let them fight, let them beat the crap out of eachother and let the issue be settled to a degree of satisfaction.

I know it seems impossible, but I think there are too many wrestlers in WWE (incredible, considering there are three brands). Too many wrestlers are being waaaay under utilized while others are being waaaay over exposed. Kane and Mark Henry are examples of characters being left out in limbo. Neither man have been involved in a realy good plot in a long time, and as I said in a previous post, Mark Henry…Rapping??? My god man, that is a true sin and waste of a great talent…and don’t get me started on his trysts with Mae Young…If they let go some of the dead weight or make just some painful cuts, realy good wrestlers can get back into the thick of things.

On the positive, I am so glad that WWE is doing something with Christian and Kofi Kingston, especialy Kofi. I figured they’d just turn him into KoKo B Ware (no disrepect to KoKo, I thought he was great, but he was a novelty act) but they are actually giving him some depth (not enough, but some is better than none) and this is the first interesting they’ve done with Randy Orton since he tag teamed with Edge.

When are Rhodes and DiBiasi going to kick Orton’s ass…talk about your abusive relationships…

I can never, nor will never, take Sheamus seriously while he has a hair style that makes him look like Gumby on steroids.

I hope the Nasty Boys don’t last long in TNA. Never big fans of theirs.

When will someone give Matt Morgan Promo lessons. He has tremendous potential but he needs…something…to boost credibility.

Lacy von erich is the hottest ‘Beautiful People’ person.

Pope needs to loose the Surgical Mask, he looks rediculous.

    I welcome your comments.

  124. Cobra Says: January 6th, 2010 at 11:16 am

Why does there have to be a rivalry between the two programs? Just curious

  125. WHAT?! Says: January 6th, 2010 at 11:22 am

Mayur, I will agree that WWE puts out a slicker product, and (sometimes) has better plot (when they don’t run them into the ground). But I think the caliber of matches, on an overall basis is superior in TNA. WWE has had it’s share of good matches (especialy from Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, John Morison, Christian and some of the other ‘lighter’ heavyweights), but many of the matches are filler, and to be honest, poorly done.

Further, plot development is piss poor in WWE with the exception of a select few. They do a great job with John Cena (Who I love, and am not ashamed to admit it) and the likes of Triple H and Sean Michaels (who turned in one for the ages at the last Wrestlemania against another great, the Undertaker) but most of their other wrestlers are just cookie cutters, just filler. TNA, while a bit primitive, does a better job of fleshing out their characters, making them more believable and thus generating passion from the fans.

As I’ve said in a previous post, to say WWE is nothing would be silly, to say they suck would be silly as well, since they don’t always. But to completely dismiss TNA is folly. Give the devil their due, they got a record 2.2 million to tune in this past Monday…they have a video game, lol. seriously though, there are certainly difference in the product of the two companies, in part the diffecence is quality, in part the difference is tone. WWE is more spectacle, showtunes, Liberace. RNA is more Headbanger’s Ball. NEITHER is bad, both can be entertaining, which is why I’ve advocated several times for TNA to just be themselves and put out the best product they can and stop making it so much about going up against Vince. I like both companies and this whole “War” is dumb. Wrestling fans are best served with a choice, and to dismiss either promition only weakens wrestling as a whole.

  126. Cobra Says: January 6th, 2010 at 12:08 pm

  128. WHAT?! Says: January 6th, 2010 at 8:01 pm

    Lol…

Yeah a war makes for a nice car wreck (look at the WWE vs WCW days). I just think Fans would win out if more than one company competed with themselves to put out the best show they can. If you make yourself about ‘Not being the competition’ what you’re really doing many times is giving the competition power over yourself.

what they should be concerned about is competing for that almighty advertising dolar which comes from ratings, and ratings come from a great product.

Hey, here’s a question – why is TNA getting pretty decent ratings but poor PPV buy rates. I think it’s the production value, any ideas from the gallery?

I would give TNA a few months to adjust with the new format. I don’t think we have even touched the surface.
The only reason WCW went under was bad financial management. Also Ted Turned got kicked out by his own board even thought he is back now.
Ted Turner liked wrestling but the rest didn’t so when they got rid of him they got rid of WCW and there was a clause that if WCW was ever sold WWE had the rights to bid on it.
Vince being Vince wanted a full monopoly and he got it.
Hopefully both companys pick their game up and by looks of TNA this week they will.

Hell the girls in TNA are much more intense in the ring compared to the Divas in the WWE. Some o’ them bitches in TNA look like they could kick some o’ the dudes asses in WWE. Other the otherhan, TNA’s promos seem alittle bit more serious instead of humorous like the WWE’s. 2 me other than that, that’s all there missing, bottom line to me is that TNA doesn’t need anything else………except a new and improved video game LOL!!!!!!!!

  138. wrestlingfan Says: January 8th, 2010 at 4:22 pm

Now TNA women wrestlers are kickass hardcore bitches, ODB, Kong, Hamada. The other night Hamada did a reverse moonsault off the top rope onto a table outside of the ring. That was impressive.

The Bret Hart Raw was pretty good but other than that segment it was normal boring WWE TV..
WWE lately has been alot of talk talk talk talk then a match will happen then be interupted.

There is no point saying they should combine cause it will never happen.
There is quite a few TNA wrestlers that WWE are trying to get but they dont want to work for a cock like Vince.
When wrestlers in WWE contracts expire I can see some jump over to TNA due to alot less workload with more money and most of the wrestlers in TNA have worked for Vince.. The reason Flair went over. TNA offered more money.
Vince more worried about shareholders also their pg rating will fail them.

If you have not seen both wrestling shows then don’t even bother commenting! The opening tag team match on TNA this week was the BEST Tag team match I have ever seen…. I have been a wrestling fan for over 20 years. To say that was the best tag team match I have ever seen. That is a huge statement!! I watch both company’s and will be true to wrestling fans. WWE has gotten boring and TNA has Brought it the past couple weeks. I am so happy to see competition back in the wrestling buisness. I don’t care what people say on here. TNA is here to stay! When WWE start to Provide a good not PG product and they provide a good product again I will be happy to say it. Good point Rockstar they did fire allot of people when they merged. Only the top wrestlers that wanted to do what ever vince told them kept there jobs. If any of you recall when even the wrestlers that came from WCW to the WWE. They didnt have the best story lines in the WWE. Only the ones that stook it out started to have the success in the WWE that they had in WCW. Point Being that there needs to be atleast 2 companies in wrestling or wrestling will start to get boring and allot of wrestlers will no longer have jobs. I’m loving what TNA is doing right now though. I hope WWE at some point answers without more of the same. Cheers to all!!

Moving to the square circle over the 6 sided ring was a huge disappointment for one. The wrestling was’nt that great on the PPV. I hope this isn’t the future of TNA to come….The past 2 TNA Impacts were great. To follow it up with this PPV was a huge disappointment! Anyway yes wrestling fan Generation me are awsome. They are kinda of like the hardy boy’s I agree. I hope they feature them more. They really amazed me. I think they should be called Generation NOW though. I think that name would be a good edge for them. 160. Ed P Says: January 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 pm

I don’t get what TNA was thinking when they reinacted the Montreol Swerwjob. Having Hebner call for the bell just as AJ reversed the ankel lock on Angle, and that whole bit with Angle spitting on Hogan. Some of you like to talk about the WWE reusing old storylines, but what about TNA. As of late, all I have seen on Impact and on there PPV’s where characaters like “Stone Cold” Shark Boy and matches like Feast or Fired where they mimic or just plan rip off the WWE.

What’s even more funny is that TNA pulled this stunt 2 weeks after Bret Hart was on RAW. I feel that if TNA wants to be taken seriously, they need to cut out the crap.

Further more, I don’t know if it’s a storyline but it would’t surprise me if TNA did this because Kurt ANgle decided to return to the WWE. My same thoughts are on Eric Bischoff firing Mick Foley at the end of the show. If this is the case, then I would’t be surprised if guys like Christopher Daniels and the Motor City Machine Guns followed.

  161. Ed P Says: January 22nd, 2010 at 11:28 pm

To add on my comments about TNA talent making the jump to the WWE, you have to admit that does sound more likely to happen then a major WWE star leaving for TNA.

For a moment think about what a career in WWE can do for Chtistopher Daniels. If he where to apply himself there the way he has done in TNA, it will be his one way ticket to the top. Remember, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and the now descrased Chris Beniot all decided to leave WCW for the WWE and it paid off greatly for their careers. Even Rey Mysterio-who stayed in WCW till the bitter end-is a much bigger star now then he was in WCW. I can see The “Fallen Angle” becoming a big name in WWE. Like I said before, if he applies himself there, he could become US or IC Champion and later on reach his full potenchel and become World Champion. But he is not going to make it anywhere if he is dropping match to guys like Sean Morley.

As for Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly, a team like them could do wonders for the WWE Tag Team Division. Paul London and Brian Kendrick were no bigger and no heavier then the Guns are and they where Tag Team Champs in the WWE for 11 months. And in my oppinion, Sabin and Shelly are a more impressive team then London and Kendrick were. With TNA giving the Tag belts to overrated teams like the British Invasion and guys like Morgan and Hernandez who would do much better as single competiters, a change in location would be an idel move for them.

And yes some of you may bring up that Ron Killings, Christian and Gail Kim went to TNA after working for Vince McMahon and yes there are 4 World Titles between Christian and Killings and Gail Kim did matriarch the Women’s Division in TNA but remember they all left TNA to go back to the WWE. What ever the reason was, they may haven maid the right move on there parts.

In conclusion, as far as the war goes, if Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan are not careful, and I hope this dosen’t happen. If they are not careful, then in a few years WWE Home Video will most likely come out with a Rise and Fall of TNA DVD set.

  162. wrestlingfan Says: January 23rd, 2010 at 9:42 am

  163. Rockstar Says: January 25th, 2010 at 5:27 am

In TNA at the moment rosters are getting organized, contracts are getting signed.
I would give them a bit of time to get their shit together and also they did need to go to the square ring due to attracting people from WWE.
When they go head to head each week I think thats when we will see the real fun stuff.
Vince will take them seriously when they do go head to head also.
But as I said before WWE pg rating will bit them in the ass and you can tell the difference watching TNA compared to WWE which is lame with thier content unless you are a kid. Its good to hear a bit or swearing like Angle last week.
You can see a group forming in TNA probabley Foley, Jarret, Angle, Hall, Xpac, Nash.
I would guess Hogan, Bishoff will get their own group going and knowing how hogan works from watching him in the past he will probably bring in Goldberg or some other wrestlers on his side to hype up the whole thing. But thats my opinion on what I have seen so far.

Nasty Boys vs Team 3D sounds good, but who knows

  168. tnafan215 Says: January 29th, 2010 at 12:14 pm

I know right, 3D all the way wit this 1, u feel me!!!!!!

  169. wrestlingfan Says: January 29th, 2010 at 7:00 pm

    Yeah!

  170. wrestlingfan Says: January 30th, 2010 at 10:43 am

Wonder how the World X Cup will be this year.

  171. tnafan215 Says: January 30th, 2010 at 11:04 pm

It would probably just be as crazy as last years X cup, why be so concerned about tha X cup this year when TNA keeps comin’ up with new suprises every night. I mean look at Mr. Kennedy or “Mr. Anderson” or what ever tha hell he wants to call himself. Don’t he seem a lil’ bit more aggressive in TNA?

  172. wrestlingfan Says: January 31st, 2010 at 9:28 am

    Yeah he does

  173. wrestlingfan Says: January 31st, 2010 at 9:29 am

But still the world x cup needs to go on

  174. Ed P Says: February 1st, 2010 at 12:44 am

How about King of the Ring. WWE has plenty of guys. A win in something that big could do wonders for someone’s career

  175. tnafan215 Says: February 1st, 2010 at 8:35 am

King of the Ring was tight, but the hell is it really proving anymore, like I said before, WWE ain’t what it use to be. Think about it the last winner was Regal, and he sucks ass!!!!

  176. wrestlingfan Says: February 1st, 2010 at 4:35 pm

Yeah. King fo the Ring is not what it used to be. World X Cup is soemthign else. You seen Royal Rumble?

  177. wrestlingfan Says: February 1st, 2010 at 6:07 pm

Edge is back! My favorite heel in WWE.

  178. tnafan215 Says: February 3rd, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Edge is back and its cool to see him again kickin’ ass in tha ring, but I still think Edge is a Professinal Douchebag! Other than that yeah I saw the Royal Rumble.

  179. wrestlingfan Says: February 3rd, 2010 at 4:06 pm

    Glad he’s back though.

  180. wrestlingfan Says: February 3rd, 2010 at 8:39 pm

    I really missed him.

  181. Ed P Says: February 4th, 2010 at 6:24 pm

For Wrestlemania this year, I’m hoping to see Edge vs. Jericho. WWE has enough time to put the World title on Jericho and have him and Edge go at it.

As far as Undertaker vs. HBK 2 goes, I think the wwe should’t go through with it. Last year I thought it would be a good match considering the fact that they are both over 40, but when I saw the match, it blew me away. This match is like 3D vs. Nasty Boys, it would be great to see it but the bar is set to high.

  182. tnafan215 Says: February 5th, 2010 at 12:26 pm

True, I think that tha WWE better step it up with those stroylines because I read online that Shawn Michaels hates tha storylines they are givin’ him as far as the Undertaker vs Michaels Wrestlmania rematch goes, and you know I have to give TNA their props again, because they blew me away at the end of impact last night.

I was not expecting to see Scott Hall & 6-pac attack Kevin Nash like that, and even though Kevin was being such a big douche by getting involved with those two in tha first place, I almost thought he deserved it. And my boy The Pope tried to beat the crap out of AJ last night, oh such a happy day for tha black people in pro wrestling when you pin the champ on t.v.!!!!LOL!!!!

  183. tnafan215 Says: February 5th, 2010 at 12:29 pm

Along with Ric Flair who is and old instigator with an adult-diaper on. I think Ric almost shited his pants when Samoa Joe screamed in his face WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Now suck on that!!!!!

  184. wrestlingfan Says: February 5th, 2010 at 4:11 pm

WWE are taking ECW off air soon. Not suprised. It was a good show but logically we all know it was the third rated, one hour show with no ratings. They have this new show comign out called WWE Nxt

  185. Ed P Says: February 5th, 2010 at 4:36 pm

When the ECW brand first came on in 2006, I was excited because it would be the brand with a Hardcore Match on almost every week. But after the origanals left it slowly become the bastard stepchild that it is today.

You can’t say that the ECW brand was a total lose. Even thought it became the home for the underacheving lower card huggers like Regal and Benjamin, it was the launching pad for CM Punk, the place were The Miz, Matt Hardy and John Morrison re-establised themselves and the breeding ground for future upper card players like Evan Bourne and Yoshi Tatsu.

  186. wrestlingfan Says: February 5th, 2010 at 7:02 pm

    Still. It didn’t get ratings.

  187. Ed P Says: February 8th, 2010 at 4:42 pm

This is my prediction of what will or mite happen at this year’s Wrestlemania, and I’ll try to be as breff as posible.

First off it’s preitty obvious that we’re going to see an Edge/Jericho World title match. another obvious one is the Hart/McMahon match. But what has me interected is what part will Cena and Batista play after getting involved last week. We could see a Hart/Cena vs McMahon/Batista tag match or Bret and Vince could have Cena and Batista be there representatives. Anyway I’m sure there will be a Cena/Batita match.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, WWE should not have another HBK/Taker Wrestlemania match. Isnt’ there an unwriten rule where the Undertaker dosen’t face the same guy twice (Kane being the exception) or two WM’s in a row. What the WWE should do and my do is have the Dead Man go head to head with how ever eliminates him from the elimination chamber (my money’s on CM Punk or Rey Mysterio), Once that match is anouced they should have Michaels cost DX the Tag titles, which would piss off Triplle H and we can have an HBK/HHH grudge match for mania.

As for the WWE Championship, I don’t really know what they have planned but it should be a big match up. After all it is the primary world title of the WWE. They could have Cena win back the title and have him defend it agenst Batista. They could have DiBiase Jr. win the title and he and Orton can have a match. Or they can have some of the new blood take a main event spot. I’m thinging Sheamus vs Kofi if they decide to do that.

Speaking of a Legacy implosion, they should have a Orton vs. Rhodes & DiBiase Jr. handicap match.

Other than that, Wrestlemania should see the end of the MVP/Miz fued in a title match. Other title matches that could fill up the card could be Unified Tag title match, IC title match and put the new NXT title be on the line. For a diva’s match they probably should have both the Women’s and Diva’s championships on the line in a winner take all tag match.

Throw in one or two other matches, the Money in the Bank ladder match (which I think will be won by eather Christian or Kingston) and you’ve got I Wrestlemania. Well that’s just my opinion of what could go down.

  188. tnafan215 Says: February 9th, 2010 at 12:22 pm

You know somethin’ he has a point, where did ECW go recently within the past few years even with getting new superstars, some of them are just new to the WWE. Take dat dude “Vance Archer”, that dude was in TNA goin’ by his government name Lance Hoyt, his own name sounds better as a wrestler than Vance Archer, HEE HEEEEE!!! that is funny as hell.

By the way did anybody catch Raw last night, that was just depresing, for the first time in history, DX split up because of HBK, and was still a funny scene to me because of what was goin’ on the entire time. First DX lost the tag titles to the Miz’s gay ass, and the Big Show with his big ol’ circus bear lookin’ass. And then Shawn wanted to move to Smackdown! to try to face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and Teddy Long told him NO! And while I was watching that I noticed Carlito in the background ease-dropping and listening, and I was thinking turn your nappy-headed ass around and eat your damn apple. Then Teddy Long got kicked by HBK and Teddy fell on Carlito. And I laughed hard as hell. But what bothers me the most is that before he super kicked T-LO, HBK said to HHH “My career is OVER!!!!”? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?????!!!! Somebody tell me somethin’!!!!

  189. wrestlingfan Says: February 9th, 2010 at 4:39 pm

Well he didn’t qualify for the Elimination Chambe ror win the Royal Rumble so thats what he thinks.

  190. tnafan215 Says: February 10th, 2010 at 4:34 pm

He sounds like a big-ass cry baby. HBK should know just like anybody else he could get another opportunity just like anybody else, I don’t know mabye he’s just gettin’ old. He can do better because if he really does decide to quit I waon’t be watchin’ and Monday Night Raw for a long time, Raw just ain’t Raw without the Heartbreak Kid,…..or even DX!

  191. Ed P Says: February 10th, 2010 at 5:42 pm

Mabye so, but DX being out of the picture could give another team a chance to shine.

  192. tnafan215 Says: February 11th, 2010 at 12:15 pm

Like who, just asking, I’m just use to seeing DX as the most dominant tag team in the WWE. I mean they ain’t no Team 3D but their not far from it. But like I said what other tag team did you have in mind?

  193. wrestlingfan Says: February 11th, 2010 at 4:36 pm

All the up comers! Don’t you realize WWE need to push their young talent?!

  194. Ed P Says: February 11th, 2010 at 6:33 pm

That’s what I ment. WWE needs to put the lime light on Cryme Tyme and the Hart Dynasty. They have teams already establised, and yet they keep putting guys that would do much better in singles competition. Like what TNA did with Morgan and Hernandez. They have teams like the Motor City Machine Guns and Lethal Consequnces who well establiesd but for some reason, they are being underused. I guess WWE and TNA have something in common.

  195. tnafan215 Says: February 11th, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Well there is a reason for that, not all of these tag teams in the WWE can pick up the pace as much as the TNA tag teams and anyone can see that that’s obvious. And that’s sort of a fact instead of an opinion.

  196. Ed P Says: February 12th, 2010 at 4:43 pm

    True

  197. Ed P Says: February 13th, 2010 at 3:29 pm

Is it me or did the wwe take John Morrison out of the Elimination Chamber match so they can give the spot to Shawn Michaels. That’s alot of crap.

Also, way to go Matt Hardy for hooking up with Maria this Valentine’s Day.

  198. tnafan215 Says: February 14th, 2010 at 11:31 pm

Well first thing, I hear wat u said about Morrison gettin’ screwd in the story line, not cool.

Oh yeah u right, big ups to Matt Hardy for hookin’ up wit Maria 4 Valentine’s Day, Hey do you think he gone git some……U kno, hit those beautiful skins!LOL!!!!

  199. wrestlingfan Says: February 15th, 2010 at 10:04 am

Morrison will get screwed out of the elimintion chamber and 1. thing that will happen is it wil be pretty obvious who will win it. A main eventer not a young talent!

  200. Ed P Says: February 15th, 2010 at 4:17 pm

It’s also obvious that the guy most likey to take Morrison’s spot is HBK.

  201. wrestlingfan Says: February 15th, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Which brings me back to my point about WWE not pushing their young talent. I liked how Dinero won the 8 Card Stud Tournament! Finally a push for the young talent.

  202. Ed P Says: February 16th, 2010 at 1:19 pm

And I agree with you. My reason for it is for what has happened to Matt Hardy. His turning on Jeff last year killed all the momentum he built up in 07 and 08. It’s wrong that he keeps getting the short end of the stick in these storylines. He is every bit as good as Jeff and in some ways he’s better. I guess it could be becaues Matt appeals more to the adult demographic where Jeff is appeals to liitle kids (fuckin’ PG rating). Honestly, last year Jeff had more kids cheering for him then adults.

  203. wrestlingfan Says: February 16th, 2010 at 6:25 pm

True that. As a kid myself I remember Jeff Hardy in his extreme match with the Undertaker and juust sittign there doing Hardy signs as he does the extreme.

  204. Ed P Says: February 16th, 2010 at 10:24 pm

Just watched the first match of the final ECW episode, and I’m not pleased. I don’t see what the problem would be if wwe let Yoshi and Goldust win the tag belts this one time. They uesd to give BS title reigns to teams that were logged down our throats just like The Miz and Big Show. Even if they didn’t workout, they could have always dropped the belts to The Harts or Cryme Tyme. Of corse, that would mean they would be tring to make us happy.

  205. wrestlingfan Says: February 17th, 2010 at 4:11 pm

Ed P, you and I think alike ebcause i wa sjust saying the same thing! All I kept thinking in my head was Big Show and the Miz aren’t going to get the titles. 1. tHey just got them and 2. look who they’re facing.

  206. Ed P Says: February 18th, 2010 at 9:21 pm

Just heard that the rumors of the new Monday Night Wars are true and it begins March 8. Good luck TNA, you’re going to need it.

  207. wrestlingfan Says: February 18th, 2010 at 9:55 pm

    Kaz is unmasked!

  208. Ed P Says: February 18th, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Yay KAZ is back, except he NEVER LEFT!!! THEY JUST PUT HIM IN THE STUPID SUICIDE CHARACTER, WHICH DID MORE HARM THEN GOOD FOR HIS CAREER!!!

Mabey this time they’ll take himn out of the X Division. Then again, if they’re not going to do it for Daniels time soon, so here’s to hopeful thinking.

  209. tnafan215 Says: February 19th, 2010 at 8:41 am

True, but Kaz has already been a TNA world title contender, so even if he gets put out of the X division then he can chase the title again.

  210. wrestlingfan Says: February 19th, 2010 at 5:30 pm

Kaz should stay in the Z-Division because sorry to say it’s pretty much dead right now.

  211. tnafan215 Says: February 19th, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Oh u mean like Suicide Huh?

  212. wrestlingfan Says: February 19th, 2010 at 7:51 pm

No just as Kaz. I’m sorry to say but the X-Division is boring. I dont really care for it no more.

  213. Ed P Says: February 20th, 2010 at 12:03 pm

If you haven’t heard WWE just posted what it’s PPV’s will be in June and July. Get this, they will be called WIld Card, Fatal Four Way and Money in the Bank. How STUPID, do those names sound. McMahon sould just keep the on he’s had and stop making up these gimmick pay-per views. I mean, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match should stay at Wrestlemania. It really dosen’t need it’s own pay-per view.

  214. wrestlingfan Says: February 20th, 2010 at 12:54 pm

Yeah. Last eyar in 2009 was when this whole Par-Per view name changing stuff started. Yeah Money in the Bnak needs to stay at Wrestlemania because the point of is was a person winnin g a title shot than there was the suspense of which title they woudl cash it in agaisnt especially just after wathing a main event match fo rthe world titles the suspence beagan. Dude ECW’s closed now sadly. WWE NXT better be good! I want to see some good superstarts. Not just some boring rookies who are just well..horrible and boring.

  215. Ed P Says: February 20th, 2010 at 7:36 pm

As far as the NXT rookies go my money is on Daniel Bryan. The reason for this is because I know him better as Bryan Danielson and he was a big name in the independent sercet. He’s a great techincal wrestler and a for Ring of Honor Heavyweight Championship

Also, as far as the MITB pay per view goes, I pray to God that there will only be one and they don’t overkill it with two different ones like the Hell in a Cell PPV did.

  216. wrestlingfan Says: February 20th, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Yeah/ I wonder how NXT will be like.

  217. wrestlingfan Says: February 20th, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Good think Cristian will be on there because Captain Charisma rocks!

  218. Ed P Says: February 21st, 2010 at 11:35 pm

They’re really doing HBK/Undertaker 2 at wrestlemania. Un-freakin-believable. Vince and Batista screwing Cena out of the WWE title after he wins it is a great way to billed up for there match but come on.
