WWE Slammy Awards 2008 Results
Posted by admin on December 3rd, 2008

WWE Slammy Awards 2008 is back and they promise to be grander than ever. The award is something like an Academy award for wrestlers and was started in 1986. The awards were given out in 1986, 1987, 1996 and 1997. Now after an eleven year break they are ready to go out to the deserving wrestlers again in 2008.

The categories are a little different than those that you would find in other awards shows, but that is just part of the fun. There are awards given for the best outfit worn in the ring as well as Best Buns and Most Embarrassing Moment. The categories are chosen with care by the creators of the award and you can bet that you will see some interesting moments during the awards ceremony.

On December 8th, 8 PM ET/ 7 PM CT, fans of the WWE will get a chance to see their favorite performers in action as they are celebrated for their performances throughout the year. Even though there has been a significant break since the last time the awards were given out, there is no shortage of contenders for the prizes.

All over the internet there is speculation on who the winners should be. You can offer up your opinion on a number of these sites and get your chance to voice your opinion. Categories that are up for grabs are the breakout star of the year, announcer of the year, couple of the year, best impersonation and diva of the year. There are probably plenty of opinions raging on who these winners should be.

On the November 24 episode of Raw, WWE announced that the fifth edition of the Slammy Awards would take place on a special three hour edition of Raw on December 8 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Wow, was it just me or was a half of the finishing moves nominated for best Finshers of the Year rip offs of people from WCW.

    RKO: Diamond Cutter (DDP)
Shooting Star Press: Same name but previously done by Billy Kidman

Im hoping Jericho is the star of the year but i bet it goes to Cena. He’s the whole reason I stopped watching WWE, the writers just seem to hand him the World Heavyweight Title so its no fun to watch.
