The surprise list of the interested players include big names like-Ram Naresh Sharwan, Shiv naraine Chanderpaul and the skipper Chris Gayle himself. It is speculated that a growing brawl between the players and the West Indies Cricket Board chiefly based on the payment issue, has led to this situation.
These players are reportedly not very happy with the kind of pay package they are receiving. They are having talks with the board for quite some time on this issue. But these talks have not come up with any fruitful result.
Even on Wednesday itself they concluded a two day long meeting with the board members. Unfortunate enough, this meeting as well failed to serve its purpose.
The players still haven’t received their due amount for the New Zealand trip which they had undertaken in this winter only. They are even looking up for the due pay for their forthcoming England trip.
This non-payment issue has truly become a serious issue in the West Indies camp. Their resentment has reached such a stage that they are pondering over the possibilities of withdrawing themselves from the national team and join IPL instead.
