The central character of this show is Lilly Rush. She is the only female detective in the Philadelphia homicide squad. She is assigned to the “cold cases”. It is her job to start finding the witnesses and interrogate them again, on the crimes which they have seen many years back. The work becomes very challenging, as most of the witnesses do not have specific memories of the crimes that they had seen, so many years back. Life has moved on and things have changed in their life. The society has also changed. When Lilly finds no other way, she takes the help of her respected mentor, Lieutenant John Stillman, to show her the way.
