Sandra Bullock plays Mary Horowitz, a crossword puzzle creator who falls madly in love – or at least in serious infatuation – with CNN cameraman, Steve, when they’re set up on a blind date. She believes they have undeniable chemistry. After this one date, she’s convinced that Steve (Bradley Cooper) is “The One”, and will do anything to convince Steve. Steve, though, thinks she’s crazy. She will follow him anywhere at any time as he follows the news. It doesn’t help that she’s being encouraged by Steve’s reporter, Hartman Hughes (Thomas Haden Church), who’s just out to torture Steve for being insolent to him. Hartman enjoys watching Steve go off the deep end, as it seems Mary’s stalking him. Until Mary ends up at the heart of the biggest news story of the year – then both men start seeing her differently. Did their game of one-upmanship put Mary in danger? Can Mary bring a community together despite the story? Will Steve discover that maybe Mary isn’t as crazy as she seems?
