Finally, now you can live the life the way you want because SecondLife is giving you a second take on Life.

Second Life (SL) is a highly imaginative, creative environment. Visiting Second Life is like stepping into a Dali or Magritte painting in 3D. The “fully textured high-resolution” second life avatars are customizable to the “nth” degree, with dozens of sliders to change every micro-pixel of your avatar’s shape, size, and color. While some “Lifers” (the preferred nickname of Second Life citizens) do their best to create miniature versions of their offline bodies, most use the opportunity to make themselves look as strange as possible. You never know what (or who) you’ll see in Second Life, which is part of the fun.

While many gamers visit Second Life, it is not a “gaming” world per se. The main in-world activity is the building of interactive objects using a scripting language that is theoretically designed to be simple enough for those with no previous programming experience. This fits in with Second Life’s stated goal of encouraging widespread group participation and creativity. Objects can be either donated to the world or can be sold for “Linden Dollars.”

Second Life’s often bizarre “waking dream” atmosphere may incessantly appeal creative artists and techie folks than to the casual social chatter. The world is so rich in features there is a bit of a learning curve to overcome to get started, which is somewhat alleviated by well-written help files available at the site and a first-visit tutorial. The very name “The Second Life” conveys the idea that this is more of a rich, complex online experience than a place to drop by every once in a while for a quick game of “Tringo” with some buddies. If you get freaked out by seeing odd things that you can’t explain, this second world is not for you. But postmodern surrealists will love Second Life’s ever-changing landscape with its stunning scenery and interesting creations. The exciting this is that you can do anything you want. You can fly in air without any support, you can do stuff heroes can do. It is truly limited to your imagination. So if you want to live the life the way you always wanted, create your little paradise – build your house, garden, buy large lands and houses with a mile long garden, etc.

Things to do in SecondLife

What can you do in Second Life Online? I believe this is without any doubt the most commonly asked question by those who are just starting to play. Before answering that question, let me explain to you what Second Life actually is: It’s a sandbox! What does that mean? In short, this basically means that Second Life can be whatever you want it to be. It’s a game created by its players. Whether you like to chat, shop, explore, play games, fight, flirt, party, build, fly, drive, fish, etc. It’s all there is Second Life. So your question should be: What CAN’T you do in Second Life?

Chat & Flirt

Just like many other multiplayer games, Second Life is the perfect place to meet new friends. What makes this game so unique? You can really interact with the other avatar. You can kiss, cuddle and can basically go as far as you want. There really is no limitation in poses since you can create your own! And certainly there are no moral rules like in the real World. If you ever wish for a woman in your life and she is unreachable, you can convince her to chat with you on SecondLife. She will really be excited. You can meet her there and well… can do anything with her depending she allows you to do that!

The limitations are only within your imagination. You can create as many poses as you want; even the poses that defy the rules of the physical world.

So no matter what your sexual preferences are. You can always find like-minded people on SecondLife and you live the virtual life with them if you choose.

Shopping

Don’t like the clothes you are wearing, or are you ready for a new body? You’re not alone! Visit one of the many stores where you can buy new shirts, pants, dresses, hair, jewelry, body parts, and so on. Have you always wanted a tattoo? Buy one or create your own! And once you have purchased or built a house, you might want to consider buying some furniture. Do you already have a television? Now you can finally play your favorite movies inside a game. You can even rent movies in Second Life. If you always wanted that Gucci dress or Armani bag, you can buy it for real cheap in SecondLife. Most of the people in SecondLife prefer to buy expensive cars and vehicles. You can also build one from scratch! For example, I have 4 McLarens, and a BMW X6! Remember, you need to spend your Linden Dollars to buy things. Make sure you play games around and win some dollars. Alternatively, you can buy Linden Dollars for real money. To avoid that, you should take up challenges, play games and do some petty work to earn Linden Dollars.

Games

Second Life is full of games, and more are added daily since these games are created by Second Life players. You can play golf, go fishing, surf, race cars, go sky diving, ski, gamble (and win or loose Linden dollars), play tag with other Second Life players, shoot water melons at other players, play soccer, play MMORPG games like dark life, fight, play Russian roulette and so on.

Building and Scripting

Are you a creative person? In that case you’ll love Second Life. Not only can you build your own house (or castle), but you can also create your own clothes, tattoos, games, animations, toys, vehicles, and so on. You can upload your own pictures or textures in the game, to make sure that your place is unique and personalized. The scripting language in Second Life allows you to add actions to your objects. Thanks to this scripting language that players can create their own game, or add actions to certain objects. After you build your own gun for instance, the scripting language will basically allow you to shoot the bullets. Again, the possibilities here are virtually endless.

Explore

New places are created daily so there is always something to explore in Second Life. There are many nice places you can visit like waterfalls, historical buildings, haunted houses, or roller coaster rides

Party

Are you ready to Party?! Just hang out in one of the many Second Life clubs. Did you know that many of these Second Life clubs actually have real DJ’s? In many places you can even request your own songs. So while you’re chilling out behind your computer, your little avatar is dancing the night away!
