Prince of Persia is a new action adventure video game, carrying the series of games developed by Ubisoft Montreal. This game was released on December 2, 2008 in most gaming formats including PS3 and Xbox360 versions. This game has a different story concept from the previous trilogy chapters.
The game is based on an ancient Persian setting with the prince and a girl, Elika, who he meets after getting diverted by a sandstorm. Throughout the game, contestants play in various environments, with the prince capable of such moves as scaling walls and crawling on ceilings. The prince also has to fight with different enemies in a bid to cleanse the land of corruption.
The developer of the game has managed to create so many new and innovative moves and refinements that you have to admire the development team themselves for a magnificent effort. Gamers can run walls, swing bars and jump from tall poles in a matter of seconds, as all controls are all flawless.
First time players will need about an hour to get used to the controls of the game. However, once you get comfortable with the controls of the Prince of Persia, you find that the adventurous game play, vibrant music and astounding graphics make it all worth the effort. In addition to this, all the thought provoking puzzles found in the game make you wonder what the developer must have been thinking of while working on the game!
Prince of Persia Xbox 360
The Prince of Persia Xbox 360 version is considered to be a much better version than the Play Station 3 version. In fact, so innovative is this game, it looks more like the start of a fresh gaming series instead of being an update or remake of an existing game.
When compared to the PS3 version, the Prince of Persia game in the Xbox format appears to have graphics that are much sharper, crisper and amazing to watch. This is what makes the Xbox version stand out against competitors
In the Xbox version, the sand looks brighter, for example, while rock cracks and vines are much more defined. It was also mentioned by Ubisoft that they had some problems cell shading the PS3 version of the game and in addition to this, it was found that the Xbox version tends to hold its frame rates at a better consistency.
The actor voicing the prince fits the role well enough to create a realistic feel to the game. The banter between the characters of the game, the antics that the prince pulls to reach his different levels and destinies on Prince of Persia make this game a worthy buy.
Prince of Persia PS3
The Prince of Persia is an action adventure game that is also available on the PS3 format. This is an interesting game with its main hero, the prince scaling walls, climbing ceilings, jumping poles and traversing the puzzles at the will and wish of our controls.
His partner is a girl friend, Elika and together they set about to reach their destiny. The sound effects in the Play Station 3 version of the game are interesting to say the least; clear and sharp and include the sound of the prince’s footsteps on different surfaces to the sounds of the outdoor rushing winds. In fact, there is a stage in the game where you play using the help of the game’s audio clarity.
The Play Station 3 version is also sharper in some ways, when compared to Xbox version. This is because the Xbox version has anti aliasing filters that help in the reduction of the sharpness and resolution of the game. It is this anti-aliasing filter that actually compensates for the resolution weakness the Xbox has.
However, on the whole there are not that many differences between the two formats of the Prince of Persia game. There may be some frame rate dips in the PS 3 version while there is more of aliasing in the Xbox one. Apart from this, there are not that many differences between the two.
If pushed, then we would say that the Xbox version is more graphically friendly of all the formats and is the version we recommend to buy. However if you don’t have the Xbox, then you will not lose out on the excitement, thrills and great graphics of the game by buying yourself the PS 3 version of the Prince of Persia.
