The wait is over: MTV Roadies 6.0 starts airing on MTV from 29th November, 7 P.M onwards. MTV realized cult dimensions with music and then diversified its path to reality shows. It expectedly championed even this territory. Few years ago the channel forayed into a youth-specific formula of success. The format was titled MTV Roadies. It aimed at picking city and town youths from various disciplines, those who were more likely of being on the positive side of the youth graph, and pitted them against each other at a very competitive level.
The aim of the program was to find a boy or a girl who could be resilient enough in overcoming back-to-back travails of daunting adventures and peer conspiracy. The show brought to us the guile of Nikhil Chinappa, an MTV icon in his own rights, and Raghu Ram, whose fierce eyes and stoic appearance seemed enough to unnerve even Prometheus.
Those answering to the Roadie call were to first go through the grind of a rigorous selection process where they matched stock with the two giants. Nikhil has always been cocky and effusive with his study of candidates. Raghu brought the fear factor despite being fairly unassuming.
After being rigorously tested, few of the candidates were selected and then the Roadies adventure started. Spread over more than a month, candidates had to pit their powers against each others. Physical competitions, back bitching plans, voting out a fellow Roadie; all was aimed at lasting out the others for the eventual tag of the Roadie winner.
Traveling long distances over bike formed a quintessential part of the adventure. Bounties did not equal that being offered by other reality shows but the intrinsic realism and youth adventure propelled the participants to give their best shot.

MTV Roadies 5.0
MTV Roadies 5.0 has been curtained few months ago. It was an amazing adventure all along. The title was finally lapped up by an unassuming, reserved lad of 28, named Ashutosh. Having self-confessed to being a small food-unit owner, the guy has cut further corners with another reality show “Big Boss”. For the first time, roadies went international. The tag of “MTV Roadies 5.0- The Game Goes International” was enough to raise viewer expectations quite a few notches.
At the initial point, the show got fixed into unwelcome mud-slinging and much maligning techniques of competitors. A point came when a guy of 28-someone called Snehasish turned the entire adventure-tuned trip to a mental conspiracy theory. He was self consumed in his sinister attempts and rightly ousted. Simran and Vikrant flattered to deceive and were ousted soon.
During its final leg, the game went international and the stakes increased. Competitions got more daunting. Sometimes it led the Roadies to dance pubs where they were made to enact opposite-gendered bar dancers. Shambhavi, an otherwise untrustworthy and apparently shady character ruled the roost for the dance challenge. She brought the right kind of meat to the eye.
Hanging through a rope under fast-jutting water was another fierce trade. Expectedly, no one fared well. Roadies traveled to the Floating markets of Thailand and raced to the Malaysian discos with élan. They did reasonably well with the challenges and finally it was Ashutosh who won the tag in a close call from Nihal, after being succored by the second runner-up Sonal, a Delhi based model-aspirant.
The entire program was brilliantly handled by a previous winner Ranvijay.

MTV Roadies 6.0 is soon to begin. It has brought along feverish anticipation and rightly so. Let’s now get into some details. Roadies 6.0 have pre-defined criteria. The contestants must be 18 years of age and Indian nationals. They should involve themselves with Roadies at their own risk and they would not be indemnified in any way. Further they should also have a two-wheeler license and a passport.
The general round of interview is intentionally made a little caustic. This adds spice to the show and at the same time helps in meticulous reading of a character; once they are subjected to pressure from external stimulus. Raghu Ram has rightly warned that the interview rounds might take certain unexpected route to catch the contestants off guard. This is in keeping with the theme of the show. “Expect the unexpected”
Another surprise in the offing, the details of which have been revealed by Roadie-team, is the introduction of Rajiv, twin brother of Raghu Ram. Now this is a marketing stratagem. Later, as the show proceeds, it can turn out to be a source of masterful deceit.
Despite declared animosity and biting acidity by the judges, the participants and viewers are on a consensus that the judges prefer the most genuine participants at the end and keep the Roadies spirit alive by making fair calls. Conspiracies are fine but overindulgence is detestable.
People can audition any number of times for the Roadies 6.0 and hence it is advisable to start auditioning from the first venue, Ashutosh is a testimony to this. He was selected after 2 prior rejections.
Participants are well advised to show their real face. Fake Portrayals may land them in thick soup. After all, the judges are no mean people.
Raghu might like to go a fair bit overboard with his hypertensive technique. This has to be coolly handled as this is just meant to be a test of composure.
Grapevine is abuzz that Immunity tasks, advantage tasks and money tasks may be modified in structure or altogether new variants may be introduced.
Though Roadies may spring a surprise by backing out, plans are on for turning Roadies 6.0 into an India vs Pakistan challenge.
Roadies 6.0 might take the participants to Australia; at least this is the declared plan. Before we start thinking of the awe-inspiring locales and welcome facilities, it is important to be guarded. Raghu Ram is the quintessential devil-incarnate and he will be helped by venomous snakes, perilous spiders and unnerving crocodiles to send shivers through the participants.
The snakes haven’t killed a single soul. Well! They might select you for their debut. The funnel web spiders might be on the look out for your eyes and the crocodiles with double-sized brain than yours might just make you look a little vulnerable below your knees.

I can’t stand the attitude of some of the Bengali’s man… That guy reminds me of a Guy I knew in Perot. He is f**ckin just like him. A Bloody Looser. The worst part was Roop Getting out man.. Really Really Felt Bad for her. She was such a sweet thing. I just badly wanna know who is gonna win this time. Has the Info leaked by any chance…

I like roadies a lot and was coming for audition this year but i dont knw y u people cancel roadies auditions in mumbai…Hope same is not the case in roadies 7. I just want to know raghu what u people exactly want in a roadies and what are the parameters u keep in ur mind and den u select the candidate…I have seen roadies 5 and roadies 6 auditions, the selection of candidate was totally different in both the roadies.
And ya please its an request u be der on roadies as long as roadies is der…coz its u dat make roadies lovable and interesting. No matter wat people says about u…. but u plz dont change coz they dont knw wat u r is wat roadies needed!!!

hey guys! don’t make a hue and cry who won and who lost? sufi won roadies 6.0 a source close to him has revealed this. but let me tell u even though this is kindda reality show but the winner is often pre decided by them only. they want someone who can represent their channel- like ranvijay, gurbani, shambhavi and anmol they all have been absorbed by the channel. though the last 2 person was not the winner. that’s the reason even after going out twice sufi was called back and since he injured himself and all the later all the task required one to be completely fit. so they send him back once more to call him again and make him the winner. but all said and done that guy does deserve it. cheers

Roadies hell down under was ok types!! two twists were really very boring 1st one through which palak got back into the show and eliminated sufi and second one when natasha got out!! agar vote out cards basis per karna tha toh it must be between poulomi and palak! but show organisers for the publicity of show dont want to make palak out frm the show!..aur final two ka selection–quite boring!!..thr must be some task for polomi and palak as well..whr best one need to compete with nouman in final!..aur nouman ko sirf advantage mila tha…but he reached to final nd apne saathkisi bhi apni choice ki ek gal ko bhi le jaaye..it was double advantage!advantage should be something like a chance to double the prize money or it could be like just an entry into the final nothing else!!…if he accepts toh usko fir se palak nd polomi se compete karna padega..if he doesnt toh he’s straight into the final!!..nd for polo nd palak thr must be a proper fight!…something like a hurdle race type aur race ke end mein ek bungee jumping karna hota…jo winner she’s into the final..am sure bungee jumping would be the most exciting part of the show!..even the show is hell down under but apart from the task of ride thr was no hell..even ride was also cool..but doing it again and again made it a hell!!..good task it was!…i hope final task mein kuch dum hoga!

You know, I never usually comment on discussions .. just read and infer. Thats it. But this time the reason I’m writing is because I just don’t understand whats the whole deal with people not liking Raghu or Roadies. I think its one show thats got some originality as well as adventure. Its not one of those cheap reality tv shows which was started after the hype of such shows started. However, I do feel that Roadies 6.0 isn’t that great as compared to last years. Like I’m pretty sure that people from the first bach who were elimibated in the first round were quite capable of becoming Roadies. Say for example Sonal (the girl from Shimla) or that guy from Chandigarh. But ya, its just my perspective. Maybe they might not have had the Roadie spirit in them.
What I like about Roadies is the very fact that the show has a league of it’s own. Its something very different you do not see on Indian television. I had never thought there was a better show to watch than Hum Panch long time back. Its quite an extreme comparison, but yes .. I think the show is great. Its generated a whole new meaning to adventure, courage etc.
As for Raghu, I think he’s quite an awesome guy to pull of such a great show. In all the interviews he has taken, I have never seen him doing something thats wrong. (except for a few times – like in case of Sufi). It’s his job to bring out the fire and anger in people (thats how I put it) and I really respect him for the fact that he is one sorted guy. He can stand up for himself and the fact that he respects women so much is just applaud able.
SO good luck with the show! I Hope Kiri wins the show, he’s the best of all 3. Although Polo-me was THE awesomest creature on the show!

I want to say that Raghu – You are the best !. I really admire your concept of roadies and especially the way you carry yourselves. I have read some of the comments and totally disagree to the same. You have brought in a concept of identifying the people with excellent leadership skills and to prove your mettle in extreme circumstances. Kudos to you. Great job. Looking forward to next season….

i m basically from chandigarh.i tried 5 times,first in 2006 when i gave the audition in chandigarh,then in 2007 i tried again n but i couldn’t pass gd round in chandigarh and in delhi also,3 time in 2008 i again tried in chandigarh i couldn’t pass the gd n in delhi,it was cancelled the auditions,so i tried alot,but i couldn’t pass ur 1st round,bcoz many people come when the auditions starts,but i dont think its the right way to judge the people personality,but hardly i had any chance to speak,sumtime gd was cancelled,so i just want a favour from u this time,now i turned 24 last month,give me atleast 1 favour to give me direct entry to face raghu n rajiv interview session,i feel i have the potential to become a roadie,but sumhow i couldn’t find the way to pass ur first GD round,bcoz hardly any time for me to show my view,show my potential in that little 1 min. session.i hope u ll help me this time..
