Finally the industry is waking up to tackle the mighty CR-V. The first one would be the Outlander from the Mitsubishi’s stable making its way on Indian roads in the second half of 2008. The premium SUV market which the CR-V dominates has something to look for with the launch of the Outlander. Mitsubishi currently have Montero & Pajero which has very selective customers owning it. Outlander would really lift Mitsubishi’s presence in SUV market with its features, looks & pricing.

As per the sources Mitsubishi Outlander would have a price tag of less than Rs 20 lakh to compete with its main rival Honda CR-V and to make this possible Hindustan motors would locally assemble the Outlander in India. It is packed with 2.4 Liter MIVEC petrol engine which pumps out an awesome 168 BHP. Indian version would slightly have a scaled down power to compete on fuel economy. What we can expect is a 5 speed manual transmission & a 4 wheel drive option.

The interiors are quite exciting with hint of silver finish on the dash and the Seats are very comfortable for long off road journey.Huge bumpers in the front with aluminum skids compliments the wide tyres to make the Outlander outclass the CR-V. Built on the latest Lancer platform don’t be surprised to have a car like drive in this sporty Outlander.
