Pritish Nandy and his award Winner Marathi director Chandrakant Kulkarni are all set to present before what they call the craziest, most amazing love story of the year. With Mandira bedi in and as ‘Meera Bai Not Out’, the Nandy communications bring us another comedy flick on cricket showing a funny angle at lives of people obsessed with cricket. The major news surrounding the flick is that Indian leggie Anil Kumble will attest his acting skills and would soon be seen on celluloid weaving magic on a different wicket. No wonder Kumble is missing from cricket circuit these days !!
Ms Meera Bai is supposedly a maths teacher quite content with her life and heavily obsessed with cricket and Anil Kumble and India’s fortune at cricket. The story is believed to make rounds around her life where she has to constantly face bouncers and googlys being thrown at her by her love interest, her family and her society. Will meera be able to be committed towards her non playing hubby and keep away the problems with her life and cricket.
The Marathi Cinemas finest, a very successful filmmaker Mr.Kulkarni is the captain of the side and Nandi communications shall fuel for the production and be the manager for the team. The Punjabi Kudi Mandira Bedi, (the first ever woman in cricket known to many) takes the strike with her acting skills with the newcomer non striker Ejaz Khan. Anupam Kher forms the formidable middle order to play the holding together act. Sandesh Shandilya, Soumik Sen and Ajit Dalvi shall play the bowling trio and try to bowl their way out of opposition over with their senses at music, scripting and dialog writing talents respectively. And what more, the Meerabai team has got its trump cards in the form of Anil Kumble and Charu sharma in their first ever bollywood performance.

Not so long ago, our very own Ajay Jadeja and Vinod Kambli have tried their hand at acting and its no news that they had failed. Let us wait and watch if Kumble can get under the skin of his character. and hope the royal challengers (He and Charu) shall give us better performance this time. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for a decent tickle at our funny bones very soon.
