Background of LinuxBazar.com

Srinivasan Subramanian, a software engineer from Bangalore started Linux Bazar on 1 April 2004 to provide Linux Distros on CD/DVD to fellow brethren and thereby promote use of Linux.

Since downloading was very very difficult, I bought it from him in June 2005. Only about 30 linux offerings were being sold through the site.

Current Situation

We started offering all Linux distros, applications and related software. It was only a Linux software site till about Q2 2006, when we started offering books, movie VCD/DVDs and then we kept adding products. It is now an entertainment products retail e commerce site. Today, we offer 32,000+ products in several categories and sub-categories.(http://www.linuxbazar.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=20&chapter=0)

Reason for Sale

I am selling as I want to focus on our SaaS business (EasyStoreHosting.com and EasyHelpDeskHosting.com, other similar offerings to come for billing, e-mail/list server, monster.com like portals). I am not able to devote as much time to Linux Bazar business. Retailing is a high volume business and I probably do not have the required patience, time and expertise for such business. To take Linux Bazar to the next stage, it requires good investment in SEO and advertising, which i am not able to make right now.

Asking price is Rs. 30 lakhs (approx. USD 72,300 @ Rs. 41.5)

Zero liabilities. Partnership. Currently, 3 employees. Can be sold with or without employees. Hosted on http://EasyStoreHosting.com e-commerce platform which you can continue @ $3,200/yr for 32,000 products and $100/yr for every additional 1,000 products. Complete transition support will be provided including know-how, expertise and knowledge transfer.

Current Traffic

Any product I add, gets indexed by Google within 24 hours and comes up in 1st page immediately.

Currently, it is organic traffic. from time to time we do search engine submission through automated service such as ineedhits.com or run Google ads worth about $150-200 per month. currently, no ads are running. Customers come to our site through Google searches. Now we have several returning customers who also send us reference customers. If one does proper seo of this site, sales can easily double if not more.

It is not a drop ship site. Products have to be shipped by us.
