The fifth Annual ICC awards 2008 will be held in Dubai on 10th September 2008 where in the Indian fans have a lot to look forward to with MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Ishant Sharma who are nominated in various categories. The Judging period considered is from 9 August 2007 to 12 August 2008. Former England captain Nasser Hussain will host the LG ICC Awards at a glittering ceremony. The LG ICC Awards is now in its fifth year but this is the first time the ceremony has taken place in the United Arab Emirates, the home of the ICC. The event will be broadcast all over the world, covering approximately 100 countries and territories.
This time they have a total of 9 Award Categories which include the following as shown below;
- Cricketer of the year
- Test player of the year
- ODI players of the year
- Emerging player of the year
- Associate player of the year
- Twenty20 International performance of the year
- Woman’s player of the year
- Spirit of cricket, and umpire of the year.
