Fiat’s Grande Punto & Linea in India. That’s true, these two models are set to launch in the second quarter of 2008. Fiat’s presence in India was better known through its popular models like 1100, Padmini, Uno & Palio. But of late, Fiat had lost its edge and lost the race to the likes of Suzuki, Hyundai & Tata. Now with Punto & Linea they should really be looking to be back in the competition.

What would make Fiat really competitive is its aggressive pricing. The Punto would be priced withing 5 lakhs & the Linea sedan would be within the 7 lakhs bracket. With high localization of parts built in its new Pune plant, which already manufactures the Palio style, Fiat can flex itself by getting into a price war.

It would be Boasting a persuasive combination of style, solid build quality, spacious interiors, diesel engine option & with unmistakably Italian good looks, Grande Punto & Linea are the cars to watch out for.
