Dell Studio 15 and Studio 17 Laptops

Dell has launched their Studio Laptops with awesome capabilities and great looks. It is shipped in 2 different Screen Sizes : 15.4″ Hi-Def Widescreen & 17” Hi-Def Widescreen. It offers a good mix of the Inspiron and XPS Series. I like the features and colors available in Dell Studio when compared to the XPS Laptops. As of now i have a Dell Inspiron E1505.
If I were to pick up a Dell Studio 15, I would go for the following Configuration as shown below.

Dell Studio Laptops support Windows XP. But, Dell has stopped shipping Microsoft Windows XP since June 30th. If you want to install XP on your machine you need to remove vista and then install XP. You may later install Windows Vista in a seperate partition.
Good value for Money
hello, good work done, but u need to cover other topics such problems being faced with this laptop. and other things which are often not known to others. the configurations which u have given are advertised everywhere. i am planning to buy studio 15. i’ve heard there are many problems in this laptop and that too from a dell employee. what do u say?

Dell has finally come up with a Beautiful design and Good value for the price. There are no problems reported by any of the Dell Studio Users I know of at least. Just that they are much more bulkier than the previous 15-inch XPS Model. They are also shipped with ATI RADEON Graphic cards which are not that great performing when compared to the NVidia Video Cards available with other laptops today. I still think you should go for it for its, Great Component Layout and the value for Price if you decided to pick up a DELL Machine.
DON’T BUY THIS LAPTOP UNLESS YOU ARE TOTALLY HAPPY WITH VISTA, BECAUSE IT WON’T RUN ANYTHING ELSE!!!! I am primarily a Linux user and bought it intending to set it up as a multi-boot system, but nothing works on it! XP bluescreens when you try to install it, Linux does not recognize any of the networking hardware, either wireless or wired. Piece of **** – I just got mine last week and I am NOT a happy camper!
@jkm2a: Dell Studio 15 is an awesome laptop, with a much more improved media editing program than the standard Microsoft. The only thing that I feel lets the Studio 15 lets you down is the graphics card, ATI Radeon 3450 which, unless you do some serious, high demanding gameplay, isn’t a problem. It would be great if Dell gave you the option to have a Nvidia card in but it’s either the ATI or some integrated card, which are much more basic.
The sound went on the first one I bought, then the mouspad froze and then the keyboard packed up. I changed it for a new replacement. The sound has just packed up and the mouse is beginning to become sporadic. A search on the internet shows lots of people saying exactly the same. I don’t advise purchasing this.
hey, if u wanna install xp in studio 15, just go on setup and change sata option to IDE, so that you’ll install properly without blue screen..
