Nokia E75 – Excellence Galore

Business Smartphone

It’s a dual mode business Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard and a sliding hardware interface. The high end model incorporates WCDMA/HSDPA for its business efficacy. At the same time, there is the added WLAN feature which makes internet available extremely fast.

RSS feeds

You can also go through all the major websites and blogs through the RSS feeder. All you need is syndication.

Video and graphics

It has a 2.4 QVGA screen. This enables quality videos and graphics. Though this is no music edition and is primarily meant for business yet the facility for music is quite good too.

Navigation

Navigational way finding tools are also present with the models so that you can seek direction. Maps are included through the A-GPS software.

3.2 megapixel camera

Talking of camera, the 3.2 mega pixel thing takes photographs beautifully and includes the feature of auto focus. Do not look for image stabilization or HD clarity here but the pictures certainly do not stretch.

Quick data transfer

You can charge the mobile through USB and at the same time look for data transfers that are so crucial for business men. It has back up software placed just as well.

Overall, the Nokia E 75 is a really smart unit for the businessmen of today.

Nokia N97 Review

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Nokia has been contemplating the launch of N97 since the last two years. Finally, the time has come to see the actual thing. Still almost six months to go and there is already a lot of buzz about the Nokia N97 in the market.

nokia n97 review The Nokia N97 is all set to hit the stores in the first half of 2009. With a whacking price of $693 and 550 Euros, this phone is supposedly the most advanced computer mobile in the world. With an inbuilt memory of 32GB and a 3.5 inch touch screen display; this phone is certainly going to turn heads. Some of its other exclusive features include Wi-Fi, QWERTY sliding keyboard, 5 mega pixel Carl Zeiss camera, dual LED flash3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, and Li-on battery.

You can enjoy up to four and a half hours of video while as long as thirty seven hours ofnokia n97 music. The phone also has an option of increasing its storage capacity by using a microSD card. With Nokia N97, you can use a 16GB microSD card slot and increase the memory as much as up to 48GB. Now, that sounds interesting and exciting! It also has HSDPA, USB 2.0 and is the Symbian S60 5th edition.

The phone resembles an iPhone but promises to be much more than that. This phone is undoubtedly one of the leaders among the latest hi-tech computer mobiles. There is a lot of expectation with the N97 as it is supposed to be the next big thing in the era of touch screen smart phones.

HP LaserJet 1200 Review

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

HP LaserJet 1200, a BW laser printer with a 1200 x 1200 dpi and the best point is that it can really work. The laserjet 1200 printer by HP is making the right kind of waves since its launch. It works for a 1200n Ethernet connection and comes with the facility of scan extension.

If you have to print a lot of letters, manuals and documentation, this is the right choice for you. Also, the price quoted by HP is way too reasonable. The bottleneck is that the printer works extremely slow when made to churn out sophisticated graphics. We are talking of the PostScript mode. It works perfectly though in the PCL mode. Hence it is advisable to use it with the Ghostscript driver like the pxlmono or hpjis.

“1200” uses PostScript effectively for all the fundamental printing purpose whereas HPLIP driver is paramount for advanced functions. The paper tray is very robust and allows easy insertion.

Also parallel port connection seems to work best for it. Using it with a USB connection device seems to be a lost idea.

A typical Linux user will always boast how the printer is an able ally in tackling high-volume documentation if the texts are simple.

Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Review

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

To keep pace with Asus’s successful flights in the Ultra portable laptop race, Dell has launched its latest Dell Inspiron Mini 12. It has set industry benchmarks with launching the first 12 inch notepad. Dell in its new avatar will put forth two variants; 1.3GHz Atom Z520 model and a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 version.

2008 OS options will be handled by Windows XP and Ubuntu. Come 2009 and Windows Vista will gear up to take the baton from XP. 6-cell battery upgrade will be another welcome relief. Those having worked on Dell gizmos before have had their complaint books open for battery deficits.

Mini 12 is definitely larger but at the same time thinner, standing at 21 mm.

Though it is slated to be released this November, local distributors are expected to have the final say regarding the release. It is being made available for $600. This might not be too small a price but given that the form factor design for the Inspiron is superb, the price may be well worth it.

Mini 12 and Mini 9 are fighting for their debut. It may be worthwhile for the Dell team to push away the mini 9 plan and get going with the apparently better mini 12. This might turn out to be a better business idea.
