Serena on the other hand, gave us one of the best matches we have seen in years. It was so long in fact, that it was the longest match at Wimbledon in 40 years. It took 2 Hours and 49 Minutes for Serena Williams to overcome Elena Dementieva. We definitely were treated to a very entertaining match even for those who are not Tennis Fans, you have to appreciate legendary matches when they happen and this was definitely one of the best matches we have seen in a while.

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009Maria Sharipova to with draw from Sony Ericsson Open - Russian queen of the court, who has always added glamour and style to the tennis court, has reportedly decided to withdraw herself from the upcoming Sonny Erricson open.
As a reason of this abrupt decision of hers she wants to point out the shoulder injury which is getting in her way. It prevents her from the natural game that she wants to put up.

She has reportedly commented that because of this injury she is not ready to play a full tournament. So she wants to recover from them first.
To mention it, she does not wish to be involved in the singles game at present, because of her injuries. As a matter of fact she returned to play doubles last week when she had lost her chance in Indian Wells.
So as of now the single matches are quite a feat for her. But let us hope for her quick recovery so that she might be in her favorite tournament as soon as possible. Without her, the game is definately going to suffer. Certainly many cant wait for her to return.

Roger Federer Cries

Roger Federer was overcome with emotions after losing to Rafa Nadal in the 2009 Australian Open. Nadal had an Impressive Win over Roger Federer in a remarkable 5 Set Australian Open 2009 Final Matches, stopping Federer in his attempt to equal Pete Sampras’ record of 14 Grand Slams. A sobbing Federer congratulated Nadal on his deserving win while Nadal paid his tribute to this great player. They have both clearly shown that they are the best in the world, not just as the 2 Best tennis players but even in their respect for each other.
It broke my heart to see Roger Federer cry!! He is such a brilliant player. I root for Nadal but Federer with his unabashed display of emotions made me sad. Seeing Rogerer Federer in tears only reinforced the thrill of the Grand Slam and of Nadal’s brilliance.

Australian Open 2009: Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer – Watch Live Online. It’s a Roger vs Rafa Finals again. Not before a decade, Roger got the chance to equal that and that itself speaks the character of what a player he is and to play against Rafael Nadal to see him through is something like scripting his name in golden letters in the history of tennis.
