Aamir’s ‘3 Idiots’: Seems Like Intelligent Stuff
Whatever Aamir Khan does, generates a lot of speculative interest and media hype. Same is true for Rajkumar Hirani’s new venture “Three Idiots” that has Aamir assuming the central lead. The title was running around the media circles while during a post-production bash of Ghajini, Aamir referred himself, Shahrukh and Salman as the three idiots of the industry.
3 idiots will be softly based on Chetan Bhagat’s debut bestseller Five Point Someone which narrates the story of an average IIT guy who just about manages to rise above the very mediocre levels. The movie will have Madhavan and Sharman Joshi as the other two idiots.
To be raised through the banner of Vidhu Vinod Chopra productions, the female lead for the movie will be played by the ever so effervescent Kareena Kapoor. To add to the histrionic appeal of the movie, Boman will be playing Kareena’s father (this is tentative)
The first shot has already been shot and it features Madhavan. The scene is beautifully shot in a jetliner and has the director all enthused. Aamir plays Rancho and he along with her love interest Kareena are set to blaze the Ladakh Iceland with a whirlwind 20 day shoot imminently ahead.
As a neat departure form the trend, the shoot will be entirely done in India and has few of the top cosmopolitan junctions like Delhi and Bangalore and a pastoral recess like Ladakh towed in. Shantanu Moitra is the oarsman on the music front and Swanand Kirkire takes the mantle of lyricist for this Aamir venture.

This is a really good movie by Aamir Khan and it has all blends of keeping the movie going on all the way… I went with 15 other friends and we never felt bored or could predict what would happen next… its an amazing new thing which kept us attached to it …. Kudos to the 3 Idiots movie team for their excellent work !!
The movie proceeds through narrations that take you into the flashback when Rancho, Farhan and Raju arrive at a premier engineering institute to begin their course.
The three are roommates and go about their life at college in a lively way occasionally Raju and Farhan being worried about Rancho’s antiques.
The so called “villain” of the flick whose ways are against that of Rancho is the Dean of the college Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani). In addition, to make matters worse Rancho happens to find love in his daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor).
The movie has some really hilarious moments with wedding reception mayhem of Viru’s oldest daughter played by Mona Singh, Raju’s father being reached to the hospital in a very funny way on a two-wheeler and so on.
The first half keeps you at wits end. But, enter second half and you are no longer given the same experience of the first half. The end stretches a bit too long and some things are just too away from spontaneity.
The music is light and entertaining. On the whole a decent flick. Only time will tell if it joins the ranks of Aamir Khan’s other blockbuster movies.
3 Idiots works and how! With a good grip on emotions and entertainment, 3 Idiots is the biggest hit of 2009 for sure. Take it from me.
the movie was awesome, I saw it on 23rd dec. in the premier show at Chicago. It was damn so funny and intelligent plot , that it made me remain excited whole those hours the movie lasted and wished if it was even longer than I would never mind to see it for as long it would have lasted. I’m going to see it again! Love you amir…

awesome movie…3 idiots is another mile stone by Raj Kumar Hirani n Aamir khan…hats off to them…after watching the movie you’ll find a great inspiration to do anything with your heart n soul not only just mind ! All schools should appeal the parents n thr students to watch the movie.

Some good comedy here and there but overall a little silly comedy flick. A message targetted towards parents while comedy targetted towards teenagers. PG-13 rated as some scenes and dialogues may not be appropriate for children. Overall, not a bad movie but if you are expecting some maturity in comedy, it might be a little dissapointing.

Too filmy i would say but it did succeed to pass on a message. It did deviate from the reality, for fun lovers its a must watch. For serious movie lovers you would think its hyped up. Overall a decent one time watch

Aaamir man u r just awesomee…ur looks/expressions/acting were just perfect! Man I haven’t seen a good movie like this in a longg while! Basically the show I went to, there were hugeee lineups and next show was completely sold out! And please go to theater to watch this movie. It’s worth every penny. And besides nowadays I rarely want to spend any money on a hindi movie! Aaal Izz Well.

come-on guys & gals, compare this stuff to present commercial movie stuff available in the theaters before posting your comments and this is definitely a better one and worth buying a ticket. I feel its a little close to practicality of life.. I love it. All my friends loved watching it. The theme is definitely not competent enough to attract all sections of the society but a great movie to youngsters and student and IT nerds.
