Monday, September 22nd, 2008Top Business Ideas you need to know to succeed online
Internet is booming right now. According to a private study, there are more than a billion people online at a given time. Since Internet never sleeps, it has become a viable business opportunity for small businesses and corporations alike. During the year of 2008, a combined amount of $40 billion was spent and as time passes, it is becoming a well-structured, economy boosting phenomenon.
Small businesses are booming on Internet right now. People have made millions of dollars online selling all kind of products. In fact, more and more people in U.S, U.K, Australia and India are going online to buy all type of products ranging from, needles to cars.
The Web is becoming deeply collaborative, allowing people to work simultaneously on the same tasks at the same time (example is project collaboration application such as BaseCamp). Many of the new success stories are riding on the powers of social networking (think the very popular MySpace.com); while others rely on user-driven content to create useful resources (great example is Wikipedia). The New Web has turned instant messaging into a crude application with the more powerful instant-voice-messaging and instant-video-messaging applications (Skype is a perfect example). It also allows for getting content here and there and mixing-and-matching them into unique content (Technorati puts together blogs and feeds in one easy to search site).
Experts are all abuzz in defining this next stage of the Internet, calling it anywhere from Web 2.0 to Live Web to Next Net. Whatever name this new Web is called, it is important for small online entrepreneurs to catch on and learn how to spot opportunities with the changes. The new Web is full of new business models, and what Business 2.0 magazine calls, “oceans of new opportunity”. All it takes is the ability to see a new way of using the Net to enhance every day living.
Consider the following online business ideas and put on your thinking cap. You might never know which service business ideas would click and make bunch of money for you:

Monday, September 22nd, 2008
The New Chevrolet Spark car is all geared up for the competition to take on the i10 & the yet to be launched A-Star. Its uncertain over its positioning as its speculated to fill in the gap between the existing Spark & the U-VA.
After Daewoo’s makeover of the matiz, Spark did quite well with its smart looks & performance. But with big players in small car segment like Hyundai & Maruti it was always difficult to be in the race which made Chevy to think of introducing a new version based on the Chevrolet Beat concept.
This smart compact beauty comes with huge headlamps which fits very prominently on the bonnet. The front bumper is a large unit which sports two-tier grille giving it an aggressive presence on road. With its large doors & distinctive side profile it has a clear indication on its space & comfort. Its powered by the second generation S Tec 1.2 L engine which features the refined 16 valve DOHC valvetrain.

Sunday, September 21st, 2008It was so long, so so long since I heard Hetfield going “YEAH!!”. I still remember how that announced the arrival of something that promised to blow your mind. When I first heard that ‘Tallica is releasing their new Album, I suddenly felt a breath of fresh air. I couldn’t help but get really excited and really restless to listen to what they have to offer this time. Knowing Metallica, I was sure they would bang the charts with something new or at worst not repeat the disaster of St. Anger. When I first heard the album, I had the most refreshing three hours in real long! The band with their new bassist Robert Trujillo has a more upbeat bass inputs than any of previous Metallica’s..there’s more to listen to base than Newsted’s. Ulrich too has seem to change his style a little bit to complement that of Trujillo’s. He has got even faster keeping rhythm and tempo intact- just like the old times. Its great to hear Hetfield’s voice command the same authority like it did. Although Kirk has never been my favourite, he has created some good solo’s in this one. For the first time in his career does he resemble Joe Satriani ( Gosh, finally!! ). Hetfield’s riffs are certainly one of the best evvvvva!!

With the release of “Death Magnetic”, Metallica became the only band to debut at No.1 Albums five times. The Album went straight to numero uno in UK, US and Canada. The heavy touring and marketing since the last year about the album had successfully created waves of enthusiasm amongst its fans. Its interesting to note what led Hetfield to make this album. In his own words, “……….and then it kind of grew from there, thinking about death… some people are drawn towards it, and just like a magnet, and other people are afraid of it and push away”.
The first striking inclusion in the repertoire is Unforgiven III! Very different style from the previous two. The only remnants being that the intro reminds of the old western influence. Where Unforgiven had plucking, Unforgiven II had riffs, this one has keyboards, and that too pretty haunting ones. My favorites in the album have been “All Nightmare Long” and “The Unforgiven III”.
All n all, the album makes you taste Metallica’s blood once again, little warmer and matured. Tougher and faster riffs, vengeful solos ( yes, Kirk has still not got rid of his Waah! ), faster drumming rhythms and double basses and more domination of bass. I have also heard that this is the only album of Metallica where all the 4 have contributed for every song! Some more interesting facts -
- New Producer, Bob out – Rick in. Rick known to get the old bands’ act together has also produced Slayer
- First recording stint of the bassist ( St. Anger was live studio )
- Guitar Hero III is claimed to be the best version of the album
- They have their first musical in 20 years ( after….and justice for all)

Need for Speed – NFS Undercover
Saturday, September 20th, 2008There are too many racing games out in the market, but the NFS by EA Sports has yet again come out with its new 12th release of the Need for Speed Series namely, The NFS Undercover, with all the features of all the other racing games. The game is slated to be released on November 18th, 2008 at North America and in November 21st, 2008 at Europe.

Just like the previous NFS Most Wanted, you fight to become most wanted again as an under cover this time with no one to help you out. You would be playing the role of a COP who goes undercover into the Criminal Underground of Tri-City as a Street Racer to bust a Street Racing Gang. Your only Police contact is Chase Linh, played by Maggie Q.
The Undercover features some hot girls in it this time, like Christina Milian and Actress Maggie Quigley playing as NFS Undercover Babes.

Christina Milian

Maggie Q
AVAILABLE ON: Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3), PLAYSTATION 2 (PS2), Wii, PSP (Playstation Portable), Nintendo DS, PC-DVD
Nfs Undercover Cars
EA has decided to have 2 micro-sites up which was launched on September 16th. One is called the “Tri-City Car Lot” and the other is called “The Tri-City Gazette”. The car lot site will unveil the car list on a weekly basis with 6 cars being rolled out each week. Please be patient with the first 2 weeks, as most of them will be cars you’ve already seen. But moving forward, the Car lot will be the first taste of all the cars in Undercover.
The Tri-City Gazette will be a fictional newspaper which will feature news stories based on the world of Undercover, and also give some insight into the game. It will also feature a lot of community news. So the more entertaining info we have, the more possibility it may appear on the Tri-City Gazette.

Nfs Undercover Demo
There would be no demo for the NFS Undercover Release as reports say that, EA wants to focus its entire efforts on the Final Version rather then spending time and resources on creating a need for speed undercover demo.
I would like the game to have;
- A Good Storyline
- Action Packed with Guns and some Crazy Highway Police Pursuits (I want to get back the thrill from running from cops, something that was missed out in NFS Pro street.)
- Lots of Awesome Cars
- Some realistic Car Damages & Car Customization

Wii vs PS3 vs Xbox
Saturday, September 20th, 2008The gaming industry has seen three majors – Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony capturing significant market share. As a user, if you are confused as to which game console is the best, read on to know more.
Diverse approaches
Microsoft and Sony as always are focusing on performance as opposed to the fun aspect of gaming. No wonder then you see fantastic graphics and interfaces that delight users time and again. However, not to be left behind, Nintendo is focusing on delivering fun and playable games, which have special controlling devices. The PS3 has been touted an alternative to the PC, while the Xbox is showcased as being used along with Windows Media Center. Therefore, the Xbox is an extension to regular streamed music as well as movies from PCs. Nintendo Wii focuses on evolving physically challenging games, which is why they have special Nunchuk controllers. The usage of accelerometers help players tilt and swing controllers to provide more interactivity.
Price factory
Sony’s Play station 3 is undoubtedly the most expensive out of all three companies’ consoles. A standard console can cost anywhere between 500 and 600 dollars. However, it comes along with a hard drive, optical drive replete with Blue-ray that provides high definition graphics, wireless controllers based on Bluetooth, video output of high definition quality, wireless and Wi-Fi networking capability. The wireless networking feature is currently available in premium versions of the PS3.
The Xbox comes at a cool 300 or 450 dollars, which is much lesser than the PS3. Unlike the PS3, which has many features in the premium versions, the Xbox only features a hard drive and optical drive powered DVD. There is also a wireless controller for games included. However, in order to be at par with the PS3, recently the Xbox 360 has been updated to include complete high definition video along with video output of 1080 p. The additional HD-DVD player is priced at 180 dollars, which ups the price to the same as the PS3.
The Wii from Nintendo is the least expensive, being priced at 250 dollars. It comes replete with DVD drive and wireless controllers. However, you cannot play DVD movies on Wii.
Multiple functions
The PS3 has been designed to function as a substitute for a regular PC. This is why with the premium versions you get a card reader, SD cards and flash cards, which facilitate photo storage and sharing, mouse and keyboard functionality and a web browser as well. So, in terms of basic functionality, the PS3 can very well be an alternative for a PC. The OS supported by PS3 is Linux and no other OS is supported by the Play Station at present.
In terms of performance, the PS3 is definitely a step ahead with Dolby Digital surround sound and a high definition video playback feature. The games featured in the PS3 are sold at 50 or 60 dollars for each game.
One drawback the Xbox 360 has is its limited hard drive functionality, because of which it cannot be used along with the online video site. The lack of adequate hard drive means one cannot save movies downloaded from the site.
So, Which do you think is the Best Console According to you : Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox or Sony PS3 ?
Posted in Gadgets No Comments »Hyundai i20
Saturday, September 20th, 2008
Hyundai which has tasted success with its world car i10, is in high spirits with its next Launch – The Hyundai i20. It is designed & engineered at its design Center in Russelsheim, Germany, so the design for all obvious reasons is more European. The features & comforts are quite tempting to rest inside this new beauty. Built on an all new platform i20 is the car, to take the Maruti Swift head on. As the model to be launched in India would be Petrol version, it has a stiff competition with Swift. The i20 which replaces the Getz in the Hyundai line-up, features a chrome strip on the grille with twin-crease on the bonnet, teardrop headlights & the large bumpers that truly stands out for the spirit of “i-gen”. The i20’s wheelbase is longer than the current Getz making it more spacious with ample storage space compared to its rivals. The stacked tail lamps just compliments the overall design with a dominant look.

The other version which the Indian market would look for i.e. the diesel version would be launched in the European market with the i20 i-blue badge. It is Powered by 1.4-litre CRDi engine pumping out 90 BHP of power & comes with both AT & 6 speed MT. But what makes it special is, it would be the most Eco-friendly car which would have a CO2 output of just 99g/km.

Expect this car in India by the end of this year or early 2009.

Thursday, September 18th, 2008Disclaimer: If You have any shortage of time, then this Blog is not for you!!!
Thoughts dingling in my head…to write or not to?..Will it Pay off?..
Finally, I decide to blog after years of hard work..lol…All these days i have been writing, but i preferred the traditional Pen and Paper. But thanks to one of my friends who introduced me to this website.
Since i have been involved with Indian Music (all forms of Indian Music), for quite a number of years now, what better than the Music I love to start off my blogging season!!
Music is solely one’s choice and perception!! Agreed!! But can we ignore the taste of a typical Hyderabadi Biryani? (though i am not much of an animal eater, but still i know somehow that they taste great. I have learned and believed from Unanimous choices of other people who eat animals, that this Hyderabadi Biryani is a Legend) Or for that matter the taste of beautifully delicious Butter Masala Dosa of Vidhayarthi Bhavan!! Certainly not!!
Not long ago, I struck this conversation with a young “Cool” chap, cool he dressed, cool he looked. The Dude!!
Somehow all strangers, whom i strike conversation with, end up either talking about football or Music, and just in case, under the most unfortunate circumstances if I happen to meet a stranger who is a “Software Pro”, I make sure he remains a stranger!!!
This conversation headed toward Music, not unusually. He was kinda “rock-n-roll”dude!! But God willing I can handle any Musical dude!!
This dude found Pride in talking about the singers of the western world; The Mozarts, The Metallicas, The Eagles.. Truly great Entertainers!! Agreed.. Then I thought it was my duty, to remind this cool young dude of our very own Music. So i asked him, “Dude, do you know anything about Mohd.Rafi?”.. The reply i got was a shocker!! “No i am not too much into Bollywood Music”, he said.” But Mohd.Rafi does not belong to the bollywood music we know dude”, I tried defending.. but there was no point. This Cool Rookie did not have an idea as to who the Legendary Mohd.Rafi was!!
Most youngsters and few not so young (both sexes), feel, listening to Indian Music is not all that cool. “Kkkkkkoleeeeeeeeeeeeee” according to them is boasting an ipod or a Car’s Music system with lot of garbage in it!! Music accordingly for them is someone shouting and someone not singing at all(i.e rapping)!!
Indian Film Music of the past had a song to console anyone in all kinds of situations!!! The kind of lyrics that were produced with a combination of Music directors we had and to back them up, The singers!!
Be it Mukesh of “Saranga Teri yaad mein” or “Chandan Sa Badan” OR Talat of “Zindagi dene wale Sun” or “Tasveer Banata hoon, Taqdeer nahi Banthi” OR Aha The Chanting voice of Hemant Da of “Hein Apna Dil toh awaara” or “ye raat ye chandni phir kaha” or “jaane woh kaise” OR “The Inimitable Kishore” OR “Prem jogan Banke”- A Master piece implemented by Naushad Ali, sung by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali. Shamshad begum, Noorjahan, Asha Bhonsle and how can we forget the greatest Lata Mangeshkar.
I thought someone was missing in this list!!Of course the great(great is used too often nowadays),but genuinely great Manna Day(the Most classically trained singer till date in Bollywood) of “Tu Pyaar Ka sagar he” Or “Sur Na Saje Kya Gaon Mein” and the very talented Mahinder Kapoor of “In Hawaon mein,in Fiza mein” Or “Ye hawa,Ye hawa”;
For most youngsters Lata’s old songs are Kuch Kuch hota hein and after and Asha’a older songs are the bad remakes. The dudes and their girl counterparts know few Kishore’s songs since most of them are re-made and they are cool!!
Is it the bad quality of music now or the bad singers or what is it that is making us listen to some “Horror Songs”, Liking them so much and even putting them as Caller tunes/ring tones (giving even the callers/listeners the worst time of their lives)
With singers like H.R and K.G singing and even Judging few reality shows (while they themselves are confused about the singing part) – it is truly not a good sign for the Indian Film music!!We really need to respect good music and stop being ignorant about it!!
In a popular T.V channel-the reality singing show’s “Theme for the day” was “POP MUSIC” and guess who the Special Judges were ‘Ustad Ghulam Ali’ and ‘Suresh Wadkar’…well can you beat this non-sense?
God Save good old Indian Music!!
