Monday, August 18th, 2008One day 2 Sardars met and started chatting. The main topic of the conversation was about how others view sardars. They felt that sardars are being ridiculed too much by others. They wanted to teach others a good lesson. Soon they had a plan for that. one Sardar said to the other, “We two will go to beach tomorrow morning. We should keep on staring at the sea. People in anxiety will crowd behind us but we should not turn to see them. Finally in the night or so we will turn and say “Hey Fools! What do you think of sardars?”. That will be a good lesson. What do you feel?”.
The other one was simply overwhelmed. He said “that’s really great!” and hugged him. Next day the two sardars went to the beach and did what they had planned to do. Soon they heard murmurs behind them and were happy. Time passed by and the noise from behind was increasing more and more. The two smiled at each other but didn’t turn. It became late night and the Sardars decided to turn to see the crowd. The sardars were shocked not because the crowd was more than expected, BUT, ALL IN THE CROWD WERE SARDARS!!!

Ghajini – Aamir’s new Hindi Movie

Aamir Khan is finally back with his new cropped look and the awesome body he developed for Ghajini that is catching everyone’s attention. It is a remake of the Tamil Film Ghajini(starring Surya Sivakumar, Asin Thottumkal) into Hindi by A.R. Murugadoss again; starring Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal playing the same role.
The story is about Aamir Khan, a rich businessman who owns a cellular phone company named Air Voice and the events surrounding his relationship with Asin. After his wife is killed, he suffers from short term memory loss. But he is out to avenge his wife’s murder.
The original Ghajini in Tamil was inspired by the Christopher Nolan’s Cult classic “Memento”. So watch out for this Blockbuster, trust Aamir to do it differently and give us an awesome movie.
Ghajini has reportedly already made Rs 90 crore through its Distribution Rights.

How to create a PopUpMenu on a JTable?

DOSTANA – New Karan Johar’s Movie
Friday, August 15th, 2008It’s been a long time since Karan Johar aka K Jo came out with his NRI Flicks. So this November, K Jo productions will release its new hindi movie “Dostana” starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra. It even has K Jo’s favourite, Shah Rukh Khan doing a Item Number.
The movie is directed by Tarun Mansukhani, one of K Jo’s buddies and is scheduled to release on November 14th. The film is entirely shot in Miami, USA. Priyanka is supposed to have donned a bikini and as you expect from our desi filmi media, they have just latched onto that fact.
The Movie is a Love Triangle with a Gay Angle thrown in ! . Abhishek loves Priyanka, Priyanka loves John. But John and AB Baby are best buddies. So to throw pinki off gear, john says he is gay. Enters, Bobby deol, who is really gay and is attracted to John. Ufffff!!! .

- Republic of the Congo – Aug 15 from France in 1960

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru gave his famous speech titled “Tryst with Destiny” towards midnight on 14th August 1947 to the Indian Constituent Assembly. He was not technically the Prime Minister as it wasn’t yet 15th August. Nehru, the next day unfurled the Indian Tri-Color flag over the Council Hall and declared India Independent.

The reason Pakistan has its Independence day on Aug 14th is probably because of 2 things:-
- Due to a clash of Ceremonies to be held for Transfer of Power, one which was in Karachi and another in Delhi, August 14th was chosen to be Pakistan’s Independence day so that Mountbatten could attend both the ceremonies.
- Pakistan also adapted a new Standard Time after partition which was 30 min behind Indian Time. Hence, if India was Independent at 12 AM on Aug 15th 1947 , then Pakistan would be on 14th August at 11.30 PM.

The Indian Independence Act 1947 was a statute enacted by the British Parliament which partitioned India and the created the Independent dominions of Pakistan and India. The Act received Royal British assent on July 18, 1947. Then the date of setting up of dominions(India/Pakistan) was fixed as 15th of August 1947 in this act. Hence 15th Of August became our Independence Day.

Midnight’s Children, Salman Rushdie’s book, is set after the Independence and Partition of India. The narrator and main character of the story is Saleem Sinai. Saleem is born at the exact moment that India becomes independent on Aug 15th 1947. Saleem Sinai’s life reflects the changing fortunes of the country after independence. The name Midnight’s Children is a reference to all people born at the stroke of Midnight on Aug 15th 1947. In fact Rushdie himself was born on June 19th 1947.

Mark Twain, the famous American Writer said this about India.“India is, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only.”
Does all this apply in 2008 ?. Everyday i see new riots, unstability and a loss of moral values. Pledge that we will change India and uphold what India stands for and fights for. Unity in Diversity. If India fails in this, the world will surely follow.
